Summary: I cannot say enough good things about this projector! We have had it for atleast 7 months now and it is going strong! Awesome picture and I have it in a room with windows. Half the time I don't even close the curtains during the day while watching! I was worried about it bruning out from too much use but it is still going strong! Can't beat a 100" or more picture for the price and the quality of picture!
Summary: Bought as a gift. There was an issue with one of the ports that developed and Optoma took care of it right away. The picture is crisp and clear. Mainly used for gaming and movies. Had for 1yr and replaced the bulb only 1x.
Summary: Literally you can take this out of the box, plug it in, adjust the focus and you are good to go. I would recommend using the Optoma web site to calculate your distances. We did this prior to ordering to ensure 1) we had the correct size screen (16:10) and 2) we installed the projector at the right height/distance from the screen. This unit offers a fantastic picture, awesome color, and easy user menu interface. Great buy. We have not used the 3-D feature at this time.
While cost effective , not be the most durable choice...

Summary: Great picture , brightness and options for the price (I paid less than $400.00 for this discontinued model (DX339) 6 months ago. It sat in the box for the first 4 months and has been installed on a ceiling mount 6 weeks ago and has been flawless - projecting HD - Blue Rays, Cable and X-Box games on a 125" screen from 19 feet away - until this week-end. Hence the 3 Stars.
Summary: We purchased a Vivitec and this Optoma at the same time to compare. We set them both up at equal distances from our screen (about 12 feet) and turn on Lord of the Rings - something with high picture quality. The Optoma out performed the Vivitec by far in its picture quality. The screen effect was more noticeable in the Vivitec, and even though the Vivitec stated to have a 15000:1 contrast ratio, the Optoma seemed to have a much better one.
Summary: Originally I was very nervous about the purchase of a Home Media Projector that didn't cost upwards of a thousand dollars, but after a lot of research and a really good price I pulled the trigger on this projector and I love it! Image quality in my dark basement on a proper projector screen is awesome!! I'm not going to say it's anywhere near the quality of a new 1080p TV (even a bargain TV) but at a fraction of the price I won't be complaining anytime soon!!
Summary: For the price, this has been the best projector I've used. The image is nice and clear. Set-up was simple. The brightness is easy to see in the day if settings are adjusted as necessary. There is even an "eco" mode that saves energy and bulb life. I would have given this 5 stars if: the projector didn't blow-off a ton of heat, and the cooling fan wasn't so loud.
