Review Summary
Optima DV11 is a portable and easy to use home projector. It has been designed for those who don’t have a home theater. Its inbuilt DVD player nullifies the need to purchase DVD player. With 1600 ANSI lumens of brightness, the contrast ratio is suitably high. It can also be used to watch digital images as the DVD player can load a picture CD and display JPEG files. It can also play audio CDs, MP3 and WMA files. Optoma has also included some powerful built in speakers (5W), however larger external speakers (home stereo system) can be connected using the included digital audio S/PDIF output. As well as the built in DVD player, Optima has provided other features for set up flexibility such as a manual zoom lens (1.1:1) and keystone correction (± 15º vertical). But there is no HDMI support. The DV11 has a noise level of 32dB at maximum brightness which is higher than many home theater projectors. Video noise creeps in only during fast-paced action scenes. The Optoma DV11 comes out with 480p images up to 8.5m across. The Optoma DV11’s projection engine is based on DLP by Texas Instruments. The DV11 has a basic 4 segment color wheel. The Optoma DV11 is accompanied by an excellent graphics-laden user manual. The DV11 is a successful product being almost the simplest portable entertainment system available on the market today. Nothing could be simpler and easier than it. If you are on the look-out for benchmark performance in a projector or would like a dual-use system for office presentations and home use there are no other choices better than the DV11. For its convenience, the DV11 is hard to beat. It may not have extraordinary features, but it is almost impossible to find a better DVD/beamer within this price range.
The evolution of home entertainment continues to move forward. The Optoma DV11, the next progression of the award-winning DV10, is a fully digital home theater projector with integrated DVD player.…
