Summary: Personal Experience Well just to say i watch this Pj and have had it running a scaled(from a Zinwelll BLS 2000) Cable High def picture for 2-3 years,at about 10 hours a week. The picture with 720p or 1080i is stunning. Better than any plasma or lcd that i have seen so far...and its measured in feet not inches. Good remote unit, easy set up,lots of options. Also for pc users it wireless ...something or other but I have never needed,it.
Summary: Personal Experience I bought this projector in March of 2003 and have loved it. Of course, it's the only projector I've owned so I can't compare it to others. I do wish it had a shorter throw distance because I've moved into a new house with smaller living room and now my images are a little smaller but still bigger than my tiny 27 Inch TV. I just throw the image on my white wall and it looks great.
Summary: Personal Experience Totally amazing kit this. Can watch 160 inch screen diameter in broad daylight. No need for full power at dusk/night - the eco mode's 1900 lumnes more than good. Contrast at 2000-1 is stunning. Very silent also which is how it should be. My advice is GO BUY if you can find one. Problems NONE AT ALL.
Summary: Personal Experience I owned this unit for one year now after testing three others in this price range - A phillips, Sharp and Toshiba. The LT260 won hands down. I have been extremely satisfied. I mainly run DVD's through a LG Player with a built-inFaroudja DCDI processor. My weak link is an old Draper Film Projector Screen. But none-the-less all people who screen movies in my 12 seat Home theatre are thoroughly impressed. and I mean thoroughly Impressed.
Summary: Personal Experience Great picture, easy to setup. I use this as my television, so it sees more use in a month than most people use a PJ in a year. I have had mine for 12 months now, and on bulb # 3. Problems "Sealed Light Path" is a friggin joke, just pop off the case and see for yourself. I routinely have to disassemble the unit to clean out dust, as well as clean the colorwheel itself with alcohol. 4 dead mirrors/pixels.
Summary: Personal Experience Awesome for the money. People are blown away, especially when I show them the difference between a component signal and s-video. Eco mode is bright enough, but for max wow factor, I crank it up.
Summary: Personal Experience We have a large room so I needed the extra throw on the lt260k (18 feet for a 100" display), otherwise I would have gone with the 240k. I did quite a bit of research on the web via projector central and finally decided to go with a bright DLP as we like to have some lighting on when watching TV via the projector. Have had this projector for 6 months and am very satisfied.
Summary: Personal Experience I bought this projector after reading many online reviews. I use it for medical-dental images (and DVD's!) and I really wanted to get a unit that was supposed to have excellent image quality and colour reproduction. I must say that initially I was very impressed. I transport the projector around a little for presentations and most recently, i am looking at the image and thinking it is not as sharp as it used to be.
Summary: Personal Experience LT260K is an awesome machine and NEC Customer Support is excellent. Picture is clear and only a few adjustments needed to be made straight out of the box. Projecting a 84" diag. image from approx 12'. Problems Working on my second machine and this one will go back too. Problems with stuck mirrors. Don't know what's going on. Maybe a bad lot of parts. Progressive scan DVD players or better cables will not fix this problem.
Summary: Personal Experience I had this projector now for a month and I watched like ten movies with it and it works and looks great. This is one of the best projectors I had so far, and I had a lot of them. The fan noise is next to null. I forget there is a fan going at times. The projector is expensive but it is worth the money. The image is very vivid and sharp.
