Summary: I've owned the HC7800D for nearly two years upgrading from an NEC HT1000. You will see why movie theaters use DLP technology, but don't skimp and try a business projector. Out of the box, picture was perfect (color and contrast). Blu-ray and HDTV are stunning. This projector has only red, blue, green color wheel which is a significant reason picture is so good.
Summary: I've owned this projector for about 16 months and I really love it. It is ceiling mounted in a small home theater room on a 96" diagonal screen. It is so good I don't see much point in going out to the movies any more. This is my second projector. Both have been DLP technology. I'm sticking with DLP because I still see issues develop over the years with the LCD projectors we have at work.
Pros: Excellent color and picture. Excellent black levels. Very little adjustment required out of the box. Test patterns were really helpful for setup.
Cons: Occasionally gets stuck switching between RGB and component video inputs. Doesn't come with 3D glasses and they are pricey.
Summary: I've had several projectors before, I tried Mitsubishi because my last 2 Optoma's gave a lot of problems. The image of this is amazing, the menu is very easy to use, it does not make noise. It is a little big but it is worthwhile. I don't use 3D since I don't like so I can't comment on that. I'm using it with a 150" screen that is 7 meters away from the projector and the image is nice.
Summary: Just bought this Projector for my home theater and man is it awesome. Right now I have it at 145" on a matte white wall. Mounted with the videosecu Mount that I also bought from Amazon. The picture is crystal clear and extremely life like. I got the projector for only $1200 when it's originally $3500. I am super happy. I paired this baby up with the yamaha 597 and also bought 14 gauge speaker wire and videosecu speaker Mounts. My setup is awesome.
Summary: Please don't buy it, it is so awesome that I want to be among those few special people who have it #greedyme. I am currently projecting it on wall( I have bought a 120" screen but its still unpacked, because the picture quality is so clear even on the wall). Bought it from "Sunset Electronics" because they were promising 4 3d glasses. Ended up getting 2 glasses(Mitsubishi EY-3DGS-78U 3D Glasses for HC7800D 3D Projector) from them. The 3d experience is just WOW !
Summary: Did my research on what projector would fit my budget of 2000.00. Came across two projectors, one being the Epson V11H502020 PowerLite 3D projector and the Mitsubishi HC7800D. Thanks to several websites for doing shootouts between these two projectors. Though the Epson had some really nice features I was turned off by many complaimnts of iris noise and the just the over all loudness of the projector. Plus, I had read the trade-offs between DLP versus LCD.
Summary: This product is very good for Home Cinema because of the high quality. but that needs dark room to be more clear. thats why its not very suitable for Conference rooms. this is made to be perfect for Home Cinema as its Full HD.
