  • Summary: Domo arigato, Mitsubishi-san! Top Japanese build quality plus attention to detail and powered everything make the HC6500 a very flexible projector indeed. Now if we just promise to use Mitsubishi power stations for our next public infrastructure project, can we have a small discount?

  • Conclusion: The HC6500 is a well balanced projector. Particular strengths are the excellent skin tones, respectable black levels and a sharp image. Overall, its one of the most film-like 3LCD home theater projectors I’ve encountered. As I’ve said several times: The HC6500 produces a very watchable, pleasing image. Black level performance crosses the threshold of being dark enough that dark scenes look very good, even if they would be better, with even better black levels.
  • Pros: Excellent color and overall image quality, after calibration. Most folks looking primarily for movie watching will find it an excellent fit., Brighter than most 1080p projectors when comparing “best” color modes, Extremely sharp image, Very good black level performance, better than the HC5500, Very good shadow detail, Two HDMI 1.3 inputs, full support for 24 fps, Deep Color, etc., Support for an anamorphic lens, Power everything – zoom, focus, lens shift – it does eve...

  • Excerpt: The full review on one of our 2009 Award-winners, the Mitsubishi HC6500, using LCD panel technology for fine full 1080p movie magic. Mitsubishi continues to enhance its full high-definition projectors, at the same time lowering the cost with each new generation. This Mitsubishi HC6500 backs up three full-HD LCD panels with an enhanced dynamic iris and top quality video processing. The most obvious change from earlier Mitsubishi full HD projectors is in its appearance.

Mitsubishi HC6500
