Summary: Personal Experience I purchased this projector new when it was first released in 2005. I have since been using it as my families primary television for entertainment. The pj has performed with zero issues for the past 7 years. I annually remove the pj from the ceiling mount and clean it up, and have been replacing the bulb every 2 years.
Summary: Personal Experience Bought this used with close to 4000 hours on and it was on it's second lamp. Replace lamp with Factory lamp and purchased new remote (can only control iris with remote) I love this projector it is quite on eco mode and has and excellent picture with very little noise. I have yet to get it ISF calibrated, but will later this year. I have a grand total of $500 invested in this unit and it has been worth every penny so far.
Summary: Personal Experience I've had this projector for a couple of months. It is ROCK solid. Running 106" (dia.) with a 6.2 surround. I love it, and so does the girlfriend (the biggest skeptic about projectors). HDTV looks life like, Xbox360 looks great, the Wii is a blast. Can't wait to hook up HD-DVD... Definitely a projector to pick up if you are thinking about it. Problems None.
Summary: Personal Experience Finally this is a projector I am talking about. I bought this pj a few month ago, I think around the time a new panasonic PT-AX100U've just came out. First I'm aiming to get the panasonic's one then I changed my mine right after I compared to this HC3000, everything was better and I will recomend this pj to all my friend if they want to buy a projector.
Summary: Personal Experience Bar none the best value for money on the market. I have a number of friends who own projectors for movies, gaming and television and this one easily outstrips them all. The crisp, clear and vibrant performance truly shines when watching an HD broadcast. Set up is a snap with only minor adjustments to contrast levels required on the easy to use interface. I recommend this projector to anyone looking to upgrade to a 720p native projector.
Summary: Personal Experience Incredible value for the money! I purchased this projector in November from Frys for $1499 to replace a Toshiba MT700 after it blew its third bulb in less than 100 hours. The Mits fit right onto the same ceiling mount and was dead on the screen. Excellent optics, fantastic picture, especially after calibration, better than projectors costing three to four times as much.
Summary: Personal Experience I have several projectors including the Panasonic AE700 and Sony HS60 but for the money, you can't beat this Mitsubishi HC3000 in overall quality and picture. I will never go back to LCD. I have never experienced detail and contrast better than this DLP projector. Problems A little problem in the installation due to limited lens shift and zoom capabilities. I was able to fix this problem just by tilting the projector up its horizontal plane.
Summary: Personal Experience I installed it in basement which has very good light control. I am projecting it on 110" screen which is painted white wall (I have little kids that like put their hand prints on anything white!) I have painted surrounfding wall flat black (All Home Depot Stuff). The picture quality looks awsome. My cousine bought Panny AE900, projecting on 92" screen in a similar basement. I think, HC3000 has much better contrast.
Summary: Personal Experience I picked this up for $1900 total w/ tax..don't ask why but you will most likely not get it for that cheap. As far as the projector, very good picture quality, perfect for setting up screens, with many options. Can't hear it, especially in Eco-mode. I use a Screen Innovations screen so that makes a difference, compared to a $100 screen. I'd suggest anyone to buy this as a home theater, for projectors under $3000.
Summary: Personal Experience After about six months of research, I bought this PJ in Dec 2005. I am projecting onto a wall covered with Behr Silverscreen with a 110" diag framed out (painted black floor molding). I was, and still am, completely blown away by this PJ. It has been a life changer. I use it everyday for SDTV, HDTV, PC, DVD, TIVO, and games. I constantly get comments like "I want that" and "how much will that cost me" from my friends, family, and neighbors.
