Summary: I think this projector is a very good one. I do see an occasional rainbow when I first got it but it didn't really bother me. Now that I've had it for weeks, I don't even see them anymore. Maybe I saw them back then because I was looking for them. Anyway, the only thing I don't like is the difficulty in adjusting the image (color, gamma, brightness, contrast, etc). It could have been made easier. Too many options to choose from.
Summary: Personal Experience This has worked great connected to an xbox 360 for gaming. We logged about 5000 hrs over the last 3 years on it. We are planning on at least one more bulb change before upgrading. Problems none.
Summary: Everything that I wanted in a projector. This item is being used in the man cave on satellite TV and DVD. This review written after one week of ownership. Easy to set up and use. Product was brought used and was well worth the cost as compared to a new one. See no reason that this will last for awhile.
Summary: I bought this projector a couple of years ago and we use it for our Home Theatre, and we couldn't be happier. The picture in HD is great, it doesn't need to be completely dark, but it always helps. The only issue I have with this projector is how much work it took to install on the ceiling, the instructions were terrible, but after much work we got it installed. Other than that this is a top quality projector for half the price.
Summary: I bought the HC1600 for my basement media room about 6 months ago and its now become our favorite room in the house. Our family looks forward to Friday night movies and sports in HD. The price (650) was unbeatable and I'm only projecting on a new wall which is painted with flat ceiling white paint! I have purchased better paint (Home Depot screen Goo imatation) but just haven't gotten around to applying it yet.
Summary: This is a great projector for the money. I looked at many other projectors, but this had the best at its price break. I think that it is a little large, but again, it's all about the cost vs those things. It worked great for my presentation, obviously overkill in regards to resolution, and it worked great on some HD videos. I'm not sure how long the bulb will last, but it works and I'm happy with what it does.
Summary: When I first hooked this projector up to my Xbox 360 I was a little disappointed. Once I realized I didn't have the settings right and fixed that, I was getting true HD quality. I would recommend this projector to anyone not wanting to spend a lot of money on a 1080p projector. As far as other reviews I've seen complaining about the black levels, I haven't noticed anything wrong with mine. I have mine setup for an 80 inch screen and it looks great.
