Got $999 or less? If you can make the HC1500 work in your room, it's going to be hard to beat. In terms of picture quality, it has the advantage over the Optoma HD70, which is overall, very similar in design, and placement. Overall, the HC1500 produces an extremely watchable and film-like result, as is typical of good DLP home theater projectors. Even better, it combines its picture quality with extremely bright output. Filling my 128" screen with sufficient brightness,... Read more

In addition, it was hard to get the projector to fit our 80" wall-mounted screen especially where our testing projectors normally are located. Besides all these, the projector performed exceptionally well in our tests but there is another new projector in town that could knock this one out, the... Read more

I bought this around Thanksgiving before ..(BCS and NFL) finals, primarily for ME (myself)! (since no one else thought we should spend that much $$$'s for a big screen projector) SOOOooo, I made it a Christmas gift for US (all)! I have personally used this (during the last 2 years ) about 60 ( YES!! ... sixty) TOTAL hours; and, have walked in the room and seen everyone ELSE using it, CONSTANTLY. the 2000 hour bulb warning has been indicating for some time now. (while we... Read more

I have owned this unit for about 6 months (400hrs) and overall I am very pleased with its performance. It is very bright, which in most applications will allow you to run the lamp in low mode which will extend bulb life. I do not experience the "rainbow effect" on any DLP displays, but I have heard... Read more
