User Review

Picoguy, Projector Central
19 June 2013
  • Summary: Personal Experience My first impressions were not so great. Image was soft and unit shut down after a few minutes. I then tried streaming video from Youtube in HD quality and this made a big difference. Image is sharp and looks very good up to around 50 inches. You have to set your ipod to never shut down or the projector will turn off. Problems Unit will shut down if it gets to hot!

nothing beats laser

TechGeek, Amazon
27 January 2013
  • Summary: Too bad these guys are leaving the projector business. Laser is great because you really don't have to focus between 1 and 12 feet. Now, laser is expensive so there's that and as with every projector I have bought: NO SOFTWARE app to get more use out of it. again, my Go universal app works perfectly on this pico as with all my others. I can't believe every maker isn't bundling this software. So, a good project but pricey.

Enhance your projector capability

Projector Geek, Amazon
18 January 2013
  • Summary: This projector is awesome, but when it's connected to an iPhone 4/4S, iPod Touch or an iPad, projection functionality is limited by the video out capability of the app used and Apple. We have just launched an app, Go Universal, on the iTunes store that lets you unleash the power of your projector! Now you can easily project and share Facebook, the World Wide Web, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF files and more. Check out Go Universal on the iTunes App store!

Great for what it is

  • Summary: Works as advertised, great focus. Dim 15 lumens requires a very dark room for larger projection but this is as advertised so expected.

Amazing technology, but not without its flaws.

T. Hutt, Amazon
5 February 2011
  • Summary: I bought one of these projectors, partly because I wanted to see what the cutting edge technology was like, and partly because I have a room that can easily be made pitch black, and no space for a noisy traditional projector. The pros are obvious. The cons need more explaining: Pros: * Very small * Zero noise (no moving parts) * Always focused * Vivid colours * Cool new technology! Cons: * Laser speckle.

SHOWWX+

LP, Amazon
27 December 2010
  • Summary: Pretty happy with this upgraded version. Using this toy mainly for watching streaming video movies from Netflix. Good for up to 40 in. on the wall in semi-dark env. Linked via s-video from laptop to composite video on the projector. Bought an s-video to rca convertor. Pros: -ultra compact -adjustable image size and color -always in focus -no noise Cons: -poor for viewing text (almost can not view any words in MS Word doc from VGA docking to laptop) Looking forward for HD...

Tempermental but Awesome when you know all the tricks

K. D. Palk "Seibukan Warrior", Amazon
26 September 2010
  • Summary: I was very pleased when I received my product within 7 days especially since I am deployed in Iraq. When I got it I plugged it in and charged it. I played a movie from my NANO and the picture was spectacular. After watching the movie, I plugged the ShowWx back in to the wall charger and left it.

First Impressions of my ShowWX

sturocks, Amazon
9 April 2010
  • Summary: My ShowWX review hooked to my iPhone 3GS All video displayed was streaming via YouTube. The packaging is first rate. Excellent presentation. Unpacked my Show, batteries (yes I ordered a second) assorted cables, wrist strap, carry sack and the instructions. As with other electronics, these days, I found the instruction to be OK. I am an experienced tech savvy guy who would still like to see a more robust set of written instructions and suggestions on use, with my devices.
