Possibly the best 720P projector

Future DMD, Amazon
19 March 2009
  • Summary: Don't be fooled by the falling prices, the MSRP was a little over 4k dollars when this projector was new. It will certainly out compete other entry level 720P projectors. The contrast is phenomenal, and the projector is really a light cannon. I came from an H31, and this projector has much better deeper blacks, with more detail. Lines of resolution aren't everything, the overall image, the colors, flesh tones, the 3d pop to the image is just flawless.

Marantz Front Projector VP4001

palmharborphillip, Ebay
8 February 2009
  • Summary: I could not be more pleased with this projector. It shows twice the picture quality of my brother's Pioneer Plasma which cost him almost twice as much. A seller had two "B Stock"...refurbished Yamaha projectors for sale just a week earlier but his price was far in excess of the Yamaha's projector, especially considering Yamaha has not manufactured projectors for about two years and this model was made by Epson for Yamaha.

Superb DLP PJ!!

Mcmasterson, Amazon
12 November 2008
  • Summary: This is a very bright, very crisp PJ. I am blown away every single time I have this unit turned on to watch a movie. I have my PS3 and Oppo DVD player hooked up for DVD viewing and the picture is amazing! I would see no reason or need to maintain a 1080p PJ when this unit can be purchased for the low price you will find in the online markets. I run it always on eco mode and it is still very bright and would do just fine with some moderate ambient light.

  • Summary: Personal Experience Have had this for a little less than a month. With the limited internet coverage for this projector, I was hesitant to purchase. At the sub-$1500 prices out there, this PJ cannot be beat. This PJ should especially appeal to those requiring a short throw. Best sleeper PJ that I've ever seen. Also, many sites may claim that this is a re-badged Sharp XV-Z3000. It is not. There are significant differences.

  • Summary: Personal Experience I have had this projector for a month now and it is the tops in my book. After even looking at some of the new 1080p, forget the other 720p, they cannot match this projector's image quality and feature set. Marantz has surely done the job right.

  • Summary: Personal Experience I was searching for a quality PJ for under $3000.00. I reviewed and demo many and was luck to find this at $2500.00. This projector has an incredibly natural picture with lots of 3D pop and excellent black levels. It is extremely well made and constructed. Marantz quality at an affordable price. It is also excellent for sports with ambient light present. Problems None. This is a wonderful find.
