Summary: Personal Experience This is my first projector. I tried many placements in my room and finally had to place the projector in an adjacent room. No fault of the projector and might just indicate some versatility in placement. I have no baseline to compare this projector to, but I love it. I watch movies and just utter, "Isn't that picture great?" I love football in HD. You can see every detail of the field and the uniforms, down to the complexion of the players.
Summary: Personal Experience An amazing projector. I am coming from a Dukane 9017 (aka JVC SX21U) and this projector is a step up. It was comparatively easy to set up. Settings out of the box for image is very good (use cinema mode). Screen door like my Dukane is nil, and the colors are amazing. This projector is also very bright and usable in dimmed light for sure (you don't need it black). I am very happy with this unit.
Summary: Personal Experience Two months ago i upgraded my Mitsubishi HD1000 to the LG CF181D, i have 65 hours of usage. I love this projector, bright, accurate colors and decent black. I think this is the best value in home-theater projectors for nuder $3000. Problems No problem so far, I keep my fingers crossed.
Summary: Personal Experience Performs exactly like the JVC-RS10 with the exception of black levels. Fan noise in normal mode is virtually silent. Excellent colors but the lumens are the reason I chose this PJ. We are projecting onto a 12 foot wide Dalite HiPower screen.
