I t's time once again to review a serious brand of projectors. Today we are covering a DLP model by Infocus - Infocus X9. It is a mid segment projector, and judging by past performances by other Infocus models, we hope to be seeing some serious lumen artwork reflect off our huge white canvas. Design and Features Being a true mid segment model, this projector has size and aesthetics that fall into a medium category. Read more
11/12/2008 - Art Feierman A detailed review of the InFocus X9 720p DLP home theater projector. The X9 is a very interesting projector. It seems to me that InFocus has realized that in the entry level 720p projector space, there is room for a very bright home theater projector that will work well in family rooms, bonus rooms, and other less than optimal locations. InFocus has definitely put the X9's emphasis on brightness, and ease of use. Read more
InFocus's X9 is a DLP projector that looks remarkably similar in design to Acer's H5350 and shares a similarly fiddly remote control. It's more awkward to use, though, due to the barely raised buttons; these give so little feedback that it's impossible to feel for the right key. I am not a projector guru but i have had this in my theater room for a year now and i am amazed by the picture . there are not a lot of settings for tweaking but i used a calibration disk and i am very pleased. i have compared it to a friends sony 1080p sxrd and i have to say it held up well. the only complaint i might have are the black levels are not as good as the sony but for under $500 who can complain. Personal Experience I had another In-Focus projector for many years (LP-530) so I was inclined to prefer their products. I have had the X-9 for two weeks now and am extremely satisifed. The remote is a little disappointing but I got used to it. The only complaint, and this is minor, the projector and the cable box (Motorola DCH3200) seem to fight with each other but then I may not be finished with the tweaking process. There is a Denon AVR-2808 in between. Read more

I am thinking about upgrading my PJ from an Infocus 4805 to an Infocus X9. Can I use the same ceiling mount? Many thanks in advance!
