Summary: The projector did not come with the proper chord (original) and I needed the projector for a prom we were playing at on the 5th of April. I notified the company and "Alex" replied and sent out a replacement chord and we received it within a few days and were able to perform at the prom. Thanks. Excellent customer service.
Summary: I was looking for a used X3 projector like mine in order to take the Controller Board from it (Hopefully in good order) and replace the one from my other X3. A new controller board would cost almost $300. I got the whole X3 for $169 (includes shipping) and the projector works! Just needs a lamp. I still vamped the board as planned and put it in my former projector. There are still many other good parts I can use for replacements.
Summary: i've had our projector about 3 years now. the 4000 hour bulb only lasted about 1000 to 1500 hours , until i started removing the bulb assembly and cleaning the screen. it seems to last alot longer now. we use it for our home tv. i have it mounted upside down and its shooting 110 inches. the dpl is great on high def. channels. i did have to put blinds in the windows to help the black quality in the day.
WARNING: Very fragile mirror tunnel behind the color wheel....

Summary: This line of projectors seem to have a fundamental design flaw that needs to be addressed in a recall by InFocus. There is a very small mirror tunnel behind the color wheel (looks like a long prism) that often fails as it is very fragile. This tunnel concentrates and channels the light to the DLP chip and if it collapses it can cause a dark (not black) band to appear at the left/right 1/10 portion of the screen. This band gets wider with time.
Summary: Personal Experience After 4 yrs of use and 3 full length movies per night, our bulb never failed, but the projector died BEFORE the bulb ran out. We think this is great service, but replacement is sticky due to ceiling mount, screw holes, placement, etc., so we are looking for yet another X3 to replace it. The picture quality never failed in all 4 years and we loved it's simplicity. Our unit never was loud nor "hot" and the casing kept out dust.
Summary: Personal Experience I've had my X3 since Oct 2005 & for the most part loved it. I overcame the noise by ceiling mounting it in a closet & projecting thru a small opening into the home theater room. Then the right edge got dark & started slowly moving left. See problems for more on this. I've carefully cleaned the lamp screens every 2 months & my original lamp is up to 1558 hours & working fine.
Summary: Personal Experience I have 18 of these in a commercial setting. They run 12-15 hours per day. I’ve gotten 5000+ hours on some of my lamps (others are around 3000hrs), but at $300ea, I would hope so. Customer service said to send them the unit and $250 service fee, and they would look at it, then charge me if any needed to be fixed. Are you kidding me!?!? As soon as I can switch to anther brand, I will.
Summary: This projector met my expectations. For the price it was the best deal. I have a large living room but do to the shape and layout a 56 to 60 inch TV would hinder the movement in and out of the room because it would stick out 2 feet. By using this projector I not only keep the 2 feet but I can also move this unit at any time with very little effort. It also can project much wider than 60' and there are no bad seats in the room.
Summary: Personal Experience the worse service dept I have ever seen. I got my projector new and it did not work right.Took two months just to get auth. for repair the got it returned back still the same. Given a hard time but finnly got auth to return for 2nd repair. Now 4 months no projector and almost 1/2 of the warenty is gone. and they wont even respond to me!
