Summary: I am by no means an expert on projectors, but I am very picky when it comes to details. My main concern in purchasing a single chip DLP was the rainbow effect. I am very susceptible to this and was able to see it on all of the projectors that I previewed with slower color wheels. For those of you who are not familiar with the rainbow effect, it is produced due to the use of a 'color wheel' that allows the projector to project the three different colors (RGB red, green,...
Summary: I second all of the comments made by the first reviewer in that its an all around stellar projector. Super bright, super sharp, great blacks, excellent color, flawless motion (no smearing like LCOS or LCD) and has a 5 yr warranty when new. Never had problems with mine.
Summary: Never buy InFocus. My projector loses the sync (blue screens) often. It's really annoying. I called infocus and they told me that's just the way it is, and it's because of my other equipment. My other projector doesn't blue screen. My TV doesn't blue screen. They had no suggestions except to tell me that's the way it is.
Summary: Let me state no single projector is perfect. There will be a give and take with any unit you purchase. The SP8602 is not without its flaws. I believe the engineers could have put more effort into designing a better cable management area. The one used is a good idea, but it lacks stability. The plastic clips are flimsy and will break easy if you're not careful. Also the DI action could have been better.
Summary: Personal Experience InFocus SP8602 is the best home theater projector I ever seen. The image quality is superb, and very easy to use. the price seems little bit high, even though it is an excellent machine.
Summary: Personal Experience Good image clarity/color. The light output, which is bright, and what attracted me, is not worth the trade-off, in my opinion, for the lack of processing in regards to frame inter-polation/judder. My experience is that this can be characteristic of DLP, but seems excessive. Infocus has informed me that there will be a firmware upgrade available this week, but did not specify if it correlates directly to this issue.
