InFocus IN76 Hi-Def Projector

Tech2
12 March 2007
  • Excerpt: Since high definition technology in general is beginning to make it's mark in the major cities, there are also questions concerning the kind of displays that would be ideal for everyone's respective budgets and requirements. People are going in for HDTVs sized anywhere between 26 to 42 inches depending on their budgets, just so they can experience this boost in resolution in all its glory.

HD capable DLP projector

Consumer Electronics Net
13 February 2007
  • Excerpt: The InFocus Play Big IN76 is the HD capable big brother to the company's IN72 DLP projector. While it shares the same footprint as the IN72, it projects a widescreen HD image at your choice of 720p, 1035i, 1080i, 1080p-24Hz, as opposed to enhanced definition with the IN72. As such, the projector carries a list price of $2499, reduced from $3000 when the unit first shipped last year.

InFocus Play Big IN76 Projector Review – Overview

Projector reviews
20 April 2006
  • Excerpt: The InFocus IN76 (officially, the Play Big IN76), has been long awaited. InFocus spoke of this projector, and their other new “Play Big” home theater projectors that were recently released, as far back as the CEDIA show last September. InFocus had demos going at the CES show in Las Vegas, this past January. It could be said that the IN76 is replacing two different older InFocus projectors.

  • Excerpt: Projector Reviews The Infocus IN76 high definition home theatre projector features a true high definition resolution of WXGA 1280 X 720 and a 3,000:1 contrast ratio for the strong blacks. The IN76 hasn't gone for the new trend of making brighter units for rooms that can't be darkened that both Panasonic and Epson have done but still has a fair brightness of 1000 lumens.

InFocus IN76 review

Stuff.tv
13 November 2007
  • Summary: At nearly two years old, the InFocus IN76 is positively geriatric by modern consumer electronics’ standards – but it’s still worth a good look. That’s partially because this well-sorted DLP projector was so intrinsically ‘right’ when it first debuted back in early 2006, but it’s also because during its lifespan, its UK distributors have continually cut its price to keep it competitive. Now, at £1000, it’s almost half what it used to cost. Bargain.

  • Summary: If you're in the market for a good all-round projector that will suit all your film and gaming needs, the InFocus Play Big IN76 will do the job nicely. However, it's expensive and there are other projectors on the market that perform just as well, but cost a lot less.
  • Pros: Excellent performance in both Standard Definition and High Definition, Attractive design, wide array of inputs
  • Cons: Too expensive
