Pros: When it works, it is bright and crisp. InFocus, in general, has great projectors.
Cons: It's a coin flip whether it will work correctly. I've sent the projector to InFocus 3 times in the past 3 years. Twice, I received a refurbished replacement. Our warranty 2 months ago and this most recent replacement has stopped working again.
Summary: I had one for over a year, putting more than 3,000 hours on it between watching movies and playing games. Unless there was a focused light on the screen area itself, ambient light did not detract much from the viewing quality. In a normally lit room, we could watch movies or play games (or surf the internet/show powerpoint presentations/etc.) comfortably... even when projecting on a bare wall (we tried white, beige, and a neutral not-quite white walls...
Summary: Personal Experience Sunday October 11, 2009. This is my first projector. My setup is a Samsung BD-P3600 Blu-Ray player and a Toshiba A35 HD DVD player connected to a Kenwood VSR-N8100 Receiver which connects to the Infocus IN38. All connection are made via component cables. I did some research on screens and ended up purching a Luma Draper Screen. I think I paid around $109 and the screen was ship directly to my house. 100" diagonally, 86" across from end to end.
Summary: We're using four of these for a research project. They have worked well; have run for 10 hours or so a day for a few weeks now. We bought cables that go from the connector on the back of the projector to DVI. The performance is much better with DVI than the included VGA cables. They really ought to stop shipping analog video cables with modern electronics.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Good Focus, Powerful, Sharp Picture
Summary: We've used it once and it's a nice, bright projector. Be aware that you need a special cable for HDMI to the M1-DVI connection on In Focus projectors. A standard DVI cable doesn't work. I ordered one and we'll try it out next meeting. Good projector for the money.
Pros: Clear Display, Easy To Use, Quiet, Small Footprint
