Summary: Awesome product i bought the same one and i used it for more then 7 years and then i gifted to my cousion and he is still using it and love the picture and the brightness and the quality thanks
Summary: Personal Experience I recently bought this recertified copy from a renown company that specializes in front projectors for HDTV. He strongly recommended this model for the price although I much prefer newer models. I am sure glad I took his advice. The quality is almost film like watching my Blu ray video. No window or rainbow effect. Nothing short of amazing. Paid $999 and it's a great value. Problems Wish the zoom is automatic instead of manual.
Summary: Personal Experience I bought my Epson 550 used with about 300 hours on the lamp. I was trying to get the least expensive yet best projector I could find. I didn't expect the Epson to look as good as it does. 1080i/720p looks simply amazing on this projector. It's very easy to operate and produces very little noise in Theater Black mode. This projector will get me by for a few years until 1080p projectors come down in price.
Summary: Personal Experience I BOUGHT MY PROJECTOR FORM THEATHER EXTEREME AND I LOVE THIS THING. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE WIFE WANTS ME TO PUT ANOTHER ONE IN THE BEDROOM KNOW :) DREAMS DO COME TRUE
Summary: Personal Experience I was very excited and very happy with the projector. Many picture adjustments that can be made on the projector and very easy to intstall. I needed very little calibration out of the box....On either projector. That's right, I've had TWO! Going on my third. Epson has been good about sending out replacements, but my warranty will eventually run out. If I hadn't had so many problems, I'd be extremely happy.
Summary: Personal Experience purchased the australian version emp-tw600. this projector is brilliant value for the money(approx a$2300)and has all the lighting modes required for day & night viewing. i would highly recommend this projector for all prospective buyers especially considering you can have a 100" screen for less than 1/4 the price of a plasma..... Problems none...
Summary: Personal Experience After 9 months of research including regular viewing on this site, purchased the Austalian equivelent TW600. Use in lounge room where it has to be put away after viewing and find versatility of the set up very good. Excellent for DVD's with lots of set up options for different light conditions. Our wood fire puts out some low ambient light and this unit is ideal for this situation.
Summary: Personal Experience Simply awesome. Ultra-bright to handle daylight situations. Home theatre settings give unbelievable lifelike colours. For $2200 Australian its the best value TV out there period.
Summary: Personal Experience Bought the Epson 550 from a local retailer who had it on sale for $2300. (Replaced my 6 year old Sony VPL-W400Q.) Also bought a 4 year warranty for $435 that includes 2 new lamps - good deal for peace of mind, and cheaper than two new lamps alone! With all the reliability problems of BenQ 7700's, Sanyo Z2-4's, etc., I went with Epson for reputation, warranty and local authorized dealer.
