Good choice for first time projector owner

  • Summary: would recommend this product to anyone wanting a projector for home theater set up. Add a nice receiver and speakers with seating and you have a nice...
  • Pros: Ease of use and shapness of picture. I was pleasantly surprized considering all the other options available.
  • Cons: aven't found any negatives although it doesn't compare with 4G tv. But then you pay a whole lot more money for 4G.

  • Summary: We've been using the 8350 projector for over a year and love the big picture and color. Our one complaint is the lamps have gone out on us a few times and yes it is a hassle but we love the over all quality of the picture. We dont want to give up the big screen. We love the projector.

  • Summary: Did well in well lit room. This lacked the ability to adjust picture from an angle. It needs keystone adjustments like the next model up.
  • Pros: Good Brightness
  • Cons: No keystone adjustments

Epson 8350

  • Summary: Install and setup are easy. Picture quality is excellent. We hung it from the ceiling. One item giving a challenge is now keeping it locked from tilting. Seems like no matter how much we tighten the set screws it still tends to need an occasional adjustment.
  • Pros: Excellent product at an excellent price
  • Cons: Could have used a better setup booklet

Not the absolute best, but not $2500 either......

  • Summary: I bought this projector after carefully studying the reviews on the internet. Despite the known issues (discussed later here), I felt it had two things going for it: 1. This projector is probably one of the most popular out there in terms of sales, meaning parts and lamps are going to be readily available for a long time to come. 2. It has a good low cost to high performance ratio. A good buy for the money.

Pleasant surprise on installation

  • Excerpt: Good News - Bad News: Bad News first - there is NO provision for attaching a safety cable to this projector. A safety cable is a great insurance policy when mounting an expensive piece of equipment overhead - especially when it weighs 16 pounds. Additionally, I could not find a screen alignment grid in the setup menu. Good News - Set up was a dream come true.
