17 April 2014
  • Summary: The Epson MegaPlex is a solidly built projector that produces amazing picture quality and with its ability to dock an iDevice, watching movies, looking at pictures or giving a presentation is easily doable. We also enjoyed the fact that the dock doubles as a pretty decent speaker dock, allowing us to play music and movies without having to add a secondary speaker.
  • Pros: Set Up In Minutes:, Digital Dock:, Beautiful Image:, Auto Adjustments:, Great Connections:, Speaker Dock:, Cheaper Than A TV:
  • Cons: Biggest Complaints:, Simple Speakers:, FYI:

Quick review - Epson MG-850HD projector

30 August 2012
  • Conclusion: Additionally, this projector comes with a remote control and carry handle making it easy to move or transport. The recommended retail price of Epson’s MG-850HD is a steep R10 009, which could also afford a 1080p-class projector. You do get a very decent lamp life of up to 5 000, which should ensure a long movie viewing experience.

Epson MegaPlex MG-850HD projector

1 May 2012
  • Conclusion: If you’re looking to watch the video on your iPad or iPhone on a screen up to 320ines across, the MegaPlex MG-850HD can accommodate. The direct mirroring of your Mac’s desktop with audio to the projector over USB is handy, but the speed of the connection seems too slow to provide smooth motion in full screen movies.
  • Pros: Lots of connection options; iOS device dock
  • Cons: Loud fan; iTunes video must be fully loaded to iOS device; Choppy video when mirrored from Mac over USB
