Summary: After many years of wishing and slowly peicing togther the parts for a home theater I have finally achieved this lofty goal. This is my first projector so bare in mind my relative experience. A few things to note. I use this projector solely for movie watching and usually at night in a completely dark room. I am not using a blu-ray player but an HDMI equipped Sony DVD player with "upscaling" on a 106" screen. This machine is AMAZING. The picture quality is first class!

Summary: The many other reviews here that praise the quality of this projector are right, so long as the bulb in the projector is relatively fresh. Now, after several replacements, I can say that it becomes unacceptably dim in about 1000 hours, nowhere near the 3000-4000 claimed. We clean the filter regularly, keep the room dimmed, but at about 1000 hours, the image rapidly becomes faint and greenish. At about $300 per bulb, that's pretty disappointing.
Summary: Personal Experience Outstanding picture. Amazing blacks, fantastic details and sharpness, great colours. Problem with focus however, frame interpolation adds some artifacts. That being said, watching avatar with 1080p and frame interpolation turned on is - for a cineast - almost a religious experience, metaphorically speaken. Since I bought my tw5000, I can't stand the poor picture quality in cinemas. Only bluray 1080p for me!
Summary: Personal Experience Be cautious if thinking about this one guys! (Epson 6500) Just got it out of the box and within half an hour, I have 2 major disappointments: 1. this thing is LOUD, I'm talking 30+ db. Might not be a problem for some people but was for me. 2. NO KEYSTONE adjustment. Go look at the FAQ on the web, or the on-line manual --it says if you get a trapezoid shaped image, move the projector to the exact dead on center of the screen.
Summary: I liked the features on PT-ae3000u much more, so I will give this projector 4 stars. However, I am completely impressed with the image quality. It has the image that made me go 'wow'. I cannot compare the image quality with other projectors and I cannot comment on how long the good image quality will last. I also cannot comment on bluray video quality because I have only played wii on this so far. But I am impressed nonetheless !
Summary: Bueno, bueno, bueno.
