Summary: I have had this projector in my basement for 2 years. Excellent picture quality and extremely bright. Would highly recommend it. I have watched 2000 hours of TV and Netflix movies with my kids and couldn't be happier. Great buy for the $$$. Some folks have complained about the noise of the projector, and I find this laughable. I sit right under the projector on my couch and watch the 120 inch picture without any noise to speak of--and of course a big smile on my face.
Great picture, but watch out when the hours add up

Summary: Great picture, super bright. At 1100 hours, the bulb would shut off immediately after startup. Tech support advised me to remove and reinstall the bulb which I did and it worked problem free until 1700 hours when the problem repeated. Called tech support and they told me the bulb was at the end of it's life so it's not to be unexpected to have these issues. I of course feel like a $300 bulb should last for every second of the 2000 hours it's rated at.
Summary: I like my Benq W6000. Good Brightness & Contrast (Balanced) I mainly use it for Movies, Anime & PS3. The Lamp at almost 2500 hours and still OK Recommended it already to some of friends looking for Projectors If I would replace it I would consider the same Brand Model W7000 that got 3D feature.
Summary: I read alot of reviews before buying this projector a few months ago to go into my new home theater. My home theater has a BenQ W6000, A Curved perforated 142" diagonal Dalite screen and a panamorphic lens attached to the BenQ. I was concerned about some of the reviews about buzzing from the BenQ due to the dynamic iris. All I can say is that I do not hear that because the new firmware I believe takes care of it. The picture is absolutely stunning.
Summary: I will try to be quick. I'm happy with my choice. I will do it again. And doing it again I will still be 100% happy. The only downside I have is that I need to wear sunglasses to watch movies ;) man the brightness is far beyond any imaginable expectation I had. After the first 5 min, when I setup the color adjustments right, the colors are very good too.
Summary: I have had about 10 different projectors in my home so in many ways I know what to look for and how they compare against each other. This model has very poor OTB color calibration and even once calibrated with some basic tools it still didn't look as good as my HC4000 with the factory settings. The smell of burning plastic all the time for the first 100 hours was finally too much and I finally sent it back for a full refund. Is it bright? Yes. Is the contrast good? Yes.
Excellent HD projector for the price. Has setting for high elevations.

Summary: It has been a pleasure to watch movies with this projector. Has enough power to illuminate a 12' wide screen from 21 feet. Users reported bad initial default colors, but BenQ must have fixed it because in the current version (Nov/2011) the default looks great and I could not improve on it with any of the available (there is a bunch) adjustments. Some reviewers mentioned the fan noise.
Summary: I haven't noticed ANY noise from the unit, it's about 6ft in back of the theater seats mounted on the ceiling, even with sound off. Once the movie starts the sound system will drown out EVERYTHING! I project right on the 7' wall painted with special titanium oxide paint, the screen measures at 165 sq inches, although the projector is supposed to be able to go to 250. Picture is VERY bright & good quality!! Would definitely recommend this projector!
