Pros: You can mount this product anywhere. It's super easy to set up. I had this out of the box and watching a movie within 30 minutes. Picture quality and size are wonderful. I run this in a room with plenty of ambient lighting and it doesn't effect the picture. The short throw is amazing.
Cons: Not a lot of options. It's great for projecting the video and that's about it. I run everything to projector via HDMI (newegg has best price on that too). But it does exactly what I need it to do. Would have been nice to have a mounting bracket included.
Summary: I mounted this to the ceiling. Because of the throw angle it is about a foot lower than I'd like it to be. The picture is amazing; it looks like a huge HD TV. The menu is easy as set up is a breeze. After reading some reviews i was nervous about the sound; however, it is very quite and doesn't deter from the enjoyment it brings. I can't wait for Sunday! 92" of 1080p NFL Sunday Ticket Max!
Summary: The projector is very nice. I only have problems when plugging in the hdmi cable..it seems a little loose and is hard to connect..you have to jiggle it a little. I guesd if your the type of person that usesIit as a home system and plugs the hdmi in once its great. But I take to shows and use it and im always praying when I jiggle it a little it will work.
Summary: I am very pleased with this projector and its picture quality. However, there are few drawbacks such as its short throw distance and incompatibility issues when trying to watch certain SBS 3D content but I am not worried too much about 3D as I don`t watch 3D so often.
Summary: The W1080ST was my first experience with a projector. Given the glorious reviews, I really wanted to like it. Sadly, I've decided to return it. I gave it 4-stars because it does many things well, but for me it's just too noisy. Here's my advice to first-time buyers. Get a hair-dryer, set it on low fan speed and low/medium heat, place it on a table in your TV room and watch a 2-hour movie... If this doesn't bother you, you'll love this projector.
Summary: I've always been a plasma fan and have owned the best. (aka Pioneer, Panasonic.) Therefore I am used to amazingly inky black levels, which result in brilliant deep colors. I knew that getting this projector would have it's benefits and downsides. Pros: Size of picture! (I'm projecting a 105" screen. A TV this size would be in the 5 figures!) 3D is amazing! (Largely due to the large screen size.) Cheap!
Summary: Well let's start by saying I'm comparing this projector to my old gt750 optoma which I loved. I have a smaller dedicated theater room, about 11x12. I needed a short throw projector because the room is smaller and I like to have a bigger screen size. I will sacrifice picture for that. I'm projector a 139" picture from about 11.5ft away. Which is a pretty short throw for this size of screen. This projector isn't even labeled a short throw like the w1080st.
