Summary: Personal Experience This was my first projector. I made a home theater with it in my living room. The result is most satisfactory. Problems I need to buy a replacement lamp for my W100, but as it ran out of production, I don't know if I could get another lamp.
Summary: Personal Experience I've had many projectors over the years, from full hd Optoma hd80 to the lower res Infocus sp4805 and loads inbetween(Optoma hd72 hd65 hd70). I have found this projector to have an amazing picture, colour saturation is incredible without looking false sharp and very deep. You simply cant hear the fan in eco mode (4000 hrs!). Being low res its best to sit about 1 1/2 lengths of your screen away from the picture so you cant make out dlp screendoor.
Summary: Personal Experience I have this projector for 4 years and I am perfectly satisfied with its job of playing mkv 720p and 1080p movies with my htpc. The picture is perfectly sharp and rich. Problems Non so far!
Summary: Older unit, cost of bulb is something to consider. Was lucky that the seller decided after the auction to not sell the unit. Newer units are more earth friendly with no mercury bulbs requiring special disposal to protect the environment. The cost of the bulb on newer units is minimal. Where the older projector the bulbs range in cost from $200 to $500 if you can find the bulb. In my attempts to locate a projector I discovered that it pays to investigate each projector.
Summary: I have this projector since the beggining of 2008 and it is excellent, now with blu-ray I am getting a fantastic image !!! and it's is only 420p!!! I can't imagine how the video will be with a 720p or a 1080p! I project in 130" on a wall covered with a MDF white/grey. The room must be more or less dark, more dark it's better. People must pay attention to the levels of brightness, contrast and color.
Summary: Personal Experience I paid $380 for this little gem on eBay with only 44 hours on the lamp. With a RRP of $1499, I got it at a steal! I am running it on a Wintel (2003/4 year model) DVD player. I have decent gold plated US imported RGB cables projecting onto an automatic 100" diagonal glass bead screen at over 4 metres away. I have it set up in my loungeroom and think it does a bloody good job! It projects a resoltion of 480p and it looks great.
Summary: Personal Experience I've had this Projector for 11 months now, and I finally finished of my first lamp. I have a Playstation 3 with a Blue-Ray player, let me say it's great. At first I had it shining on a flat white wall (and it looked great!), but at 2400 hours I finally put up A Goo System Screen, and now it's breath taking. Hi-Def football or anything looks great. I still can't believe the price, it looks as if it's worth $6000 instead of $600. Could not be happier.
Summary: Personal Experience I purchased both this projector and an Epson Home 10+ at Christmas last year; the Benq for my living room and the Epson for the game room. After using both for nearly a year I can truly say that the W100 is the way to go and is an excellent value. Running 1080i and 480p images are smooth and and crisp on my 106" screen. Brightness is excellent; even in cinema/eco. mode visibility is tolerable, and can be almost punishing at higher brightness settings.
Summary: Personal Experience I've only had it for week so far, yet I'm extremely happy with it after 3 movie showings. Great contrast and brightness can't beat it for the money although I paid too much for it on E-bay It fits my needs as it's very lightweight and compact Problems Nada so far.
