Summary: Personal Experience This was my first projector I have ever gotten, and it is a perfect addition to my home theater setup. I had gotten it as a used gift from a family friend where the lamp had about 700 hours on it. The first bulb exploded at about 1300 hours, but I did notice that a lot of dust had accumulated in the air vents. (The person I got this from had this projector since 2003.) I ordered a new lamp for $185 at a website called "Advanced Lamps".
Summary: Personal Experience No complaints. Paid $1800 about 18 months ago. It came with a free bulb and I'm about 1200 hours into the second bulb. Some here have said you can't get replacement bulbs, but they're in stock online for between $221-$335. Obviously, the S-Video, RGA, and HD inputs are much clearer than the Component (RCA) jack. The Matrix looked awesome with the right connection! Problems None. Still very happy with it.
Summary: Personal Experience Excellent price for the projector. The yellow has a mustardish tint like all DLPs. BenQ's service is excellent. I have it mounted on the ceiling and am using it to watch movies and play video games. The included accessory package is amazing. Problems Hitting the power button twice to turn the projector off took some getting used to. I guess it's so presenters don't turn it off during a presentation accidentally.
Summary: Personal Experience Decent specifications for the price. I use it mostly for Xbox and movies. It's nice and bright... initially. After only 380 hours of bulb usage, there was considerable dimming of the light output to the point that even in pitch darkness, movies are hard to make out (I'm using a Da-lite High Contrast Cinema Vision screen). Changing the bulb out helped immensely. I hope this new bulb lasts longer than 400 hours.
Summary: Personal Experience While it worked, it did a fine job. I had trouble with dust blobs getting into the machine and showing up on my picture image. Problems Dust blobs. I hot-swapped my PB7200 with BenQ and got a new PB7200 projector about 8 months ago. The bulb died on it (after 7 months use), so I ordered two new bulbs on Jan 20, 2006 and I am still waiting. Word has it that BenQ may not be manufacturing the bulb for the PB7200.
Summary: Personal Experience I have owned this PJ for about a year and a half. I am now on my second unit since the first, after 6 months and 150 hours of use, locked up and was stuck on the searching for s-video screen. I use the unit for presentations and was hoping for more. The second unit just started locking up on me as well. It came out of it though. The manufacture can give me no explanation, nor the online store where I bought it from.
Summary: Personal Experience I've been using this unit as a home theater projector. Initially connected it via S-Video cable directly to my DVD player. This produced an adequate picture, but I thought it could be better. Finally connected via VGA/composite cable through my PC. WOW!!!! Unit is pretty quiet fan wise, so far no complaints from anyone watching movies. I bought this project online for less than $1k with only 2.5 hours on the lamp.
Summary: Personal Experience I use mine for home theater with 8'wx6'h screen. The HDTV is absolutely ausome due to 2200 lum. and 1024x768 xga. NASCAR is awsome. Elect. bill will go up in proportion to use. Problems If I accidently flip image upside down, which is actually right sideup due to mounting, it is difficult for me get image righted easly.
