Summary: This projector has been advertised as a conference room projector and not a home theater projector, however I find the picture quality to very good for movies. I have it hooked up to my PS3 with hdmi and it looks great.
Pros: brightness, resolution using hdmi.
Cons: none, fans are slightly loud but not noisy or bothersome.

Summary: i purchased the mx511 about three months ago. i have to say it's awesome. hdmi works great. it's the only thing i have hooked up. i have it hooked up to my directv and ps3. i am running through a viewsonic vp3d1 adapter. i am using cheap 3d dlp link glasses made by futurecinema..
Summary: For the price you just can't go wrong! I have been using this for almost two years now and have not had one problem with it. I run it in my basement on eco mode and the picture looks good even with some lighting on, it doesn't have to be pitch black in the room.
Summary: I loved this projector until just 1 month out of warranty when the pixels started getting stuck. In the course of just 3 days 70% of the image is completely obscured by white or black pixels. It will cost nearly as much to repair as for a new projector, so it's going in the trash.
Summary: I have had this projector since January 2012, have put about 110 hours on it so far. I am including the guide on how to run 3D from your computer onto this projector below. but first pros and cons.
Summary: The Benq MX511 3D ready DLP Projector, is a decent projector, with good colors, brightness and black levels, at a reasonable price, this projector can also be added to the list of projectors that is compatible with the Optoma 3D-XL Converter Box.
Summary: people say u need an expensive projector to play xbox games but i bought this for about 450 and its been great. no lag on any of my xbox360 games. the image looks great without blurring on heavy games like black ops2 and skyrim,forza,borderlands,AC3 all look great. mines currently a 130in diag.
Summary: I am really quite pleased with this projector. Wanted a projector to replace my very old NEC SVGA one with hdmi for xbox gaming and dvd/etc in the basement and i am now projecting about a 5ft high image on a white painted wall.
Summary: BenQ MX511 is 3D ready but it does not support HD source for 3D. You can see 3D only using composite (yellow) or s-video cable (advised by BenQ tech support). To see HD 3D you need HDMI 1.4 input and this projector only support HDMI 1.3 input.
Summary: I have had this unit for about a month now. I am very satisfield with the color, clarity and brightness. I am very dissapointed with the 3D function. For this unit to output 3D, it must use the video input. I tried three bluray players and they all output the 3D on HDMI. Won't work!
