Summary: I have owned this projector for over two years and has had over ~8000 hours of use on its original lamp. Unfortunately it never came with a remote as I bought an "open-box" item that the remote had been lost from. It would be great if BenQ could send me one but the won't. However I am giving this projector five stars as when I put the new lamp in, it wasn't that much better than the original, so I switched back.
Summary: Personal Experience Does the job for the most part. Please read below for the problem I encountered. Wow seriously the 25 word minimum for the review seems not to include the section "Any Problems Encountered". Problems I had one problem. I had a Sony Blue-Ray player and it would not keep the HDMI signal for more the a couple of seconds.
Summary: Personal Experience I don't know how someone can say that 1080p is not HD. This projector has a better picture than the new Sharp 80" I looked at that sells for 5000. Problems 3D glasses are not cheap at 100 bucks a pop but they are made well and fit over my eyeglasses so I can't complain too much.
Summary: Personal Experience I borrowed an old xga projector from work to try the cimema experience. I thought that picture was pretty good although I did want a wide screen projector. This experience made me decide to bite the bullet and buy a projector of my own. I decided on the MW512 as it was wide screen and coupld project an HD 720 picture. It is also bright, has a good contrast ratio and is a good price.
Summary: Personal Experience this projector is No 3 for us over the last 4 years. it blows all other units we have ownde away-colour is excellent, brightess of image excellent, really low noise-almost inaudible. let own by 0ver complicated menus, but still OK if you have the time to delve into them. looking forward to trying the 3D. at the price a real bargain for the quality. Problems none so far.
Summary: Personal Experience Price is very affordable for the specifications and brightness. I love the projector! The image quality is extraordinary compared to my old projector and easy to set up. THis is my 1st BenQ adn so far everything is excellent!
Summary: Personal Experience Not quite hd being a WXGA unit, but picture quality is very good. The colours are deep and contrast great. I doubt you would see any improvement with a 720p unit, so if you're really big on HD best to try a 1080p unit. For the budget minded, this is a great deal and 3D capable. It has a 6 Segment colour wheel and after a month I have seen no trace of DLP rainbow effect. HDMI connectivity is a must feature.
