  • Summary: Personal Experience I got this unit as the price was great for the specifications it had. I have had this projector for over 2 years and I have had no problems with it. I use it mainly to view movies in people's back yard so it travels a lot.

Additional commentary.....

Kenneth K., Newegg
14 September 2007
  • Summary: The only difference between this model and the MP721 appears to be the lumens (2200 vs. 2500). There is also an optional wireless adapter available (Linkpro @ $220) which supposedly allows your computer to be up to 300' (100 m) away from your projector.
  • Pros: This projector also comes with very quiet fans. The overall picture is extremely bright and the text is crisp even when you're under fluorescent lights. Overall this is one of the hottest deals on a 'quality' projector. Supposedly DVD movies look really nice, but I have yet to actually try watchi...

Works in Clone Mode!

Kenneth K., Newegg
14 September 2007
  • Summary: Some may think the exterior is black from the images shown on this site, but it is actually navy blue.
  • Pros: I was skeptical about this projector since the other 2 reviewers claim that this unit is unable to function in clone mode. I have an Acer Aspire 5100 w/ ATI Xpress 1100 and it works fine in clone mode. However you must set both the onboard video and projector to 800x600 or 1024x768 for it to work...
  • Cons: No native component video inputs, and there is only a 1 yr. mfg. warranty.

  • Summary: This projector can have a wireless connection by purchasing a module. Perfect for business meetings.
  • Pros: Amazing projector at a great price! Currently using this projector as a home theater. Even with a s-video connection the quality is amazing.
  • Cons: non-HDCP compliant. Tried several different dvd players and cables(DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI), but had no success with the DVI-I input. Benq technical support doesn't know, or won't tell me why I the "non-HDCP compliant" appears on the screen and then shuts down.

  • Summary: Personal Experience Doesn't work at all with our Dell Laptops. Problems We bought three of these to replace our older LCD projectors. These projectors do not work with our Dell laptops (Latitude D630, Inspiron 6400)in clone mode using the analog input - the "normal" way we use all our projectors.

Not Recommended

Lisa M., Newegg
5 September 2007
  • Pros: Small and light-weight compared to our 7-year old projectors it was supposed to replace.
  • Cons: We bought 3 of these (but not from Newegg 'cause they weren't in stock then). Does NOT work properly in clone mode with our several brand new Dell Latitude D630 laptops or our Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop. It sometimes will display the desktop briefly, but usually not, falling back into "searching" ...

Not compatable with some laptops.

  • Summary: Newegg customer support is great! This is my second purchase from newegg and I will now shop newegg first! You guys Rock!
  • Pros: Picture was bright. Nice looking physical box.
  • Cons: Colors did not appear accurate compared to my previous DLP projector. Would not work with my brand new Dell Inspiron laptop in clone mode (same picture on projector and laptop screen). It would work fine as an extented screen but not as clone. I tried 3 other monitors to make sure it was not my c...

Best Thing Since Sliced Bread

Brandon S., Newegg
31 July 2007
  • Pros: I got this product a little over a week ago and i have to say the picture quality is the best of any projector i've seen so far. I watch it at about 80 inches and it is crystal clear. Movies play flawlessly, video games, tv, and what ever else you want to watch. Video games especially are awesome...
