Summary: Upon first use extraordinarily poor sound quality with loud static noise drowning out all music and dialogue. I sent the projector back to China (as advised) for $58 in postage. I will repost if this is resolved with a new projector as promised.
Summary: Pros: * Bright colors with a good picture * Lots of connection options. * Short throw so it will project a big picture in a small room Cons: * Crashes a lot when playing from a USB hard drive. It doesn't crash in the middle of a movie but will crash when starting the movie. Its stable once you finally get it going. * Does not support iPhone 4S or higher! * Very low volume from headphone jack with ground loop noise. Luckily the HDMI connection is quiet.
Summary: Pro: The projector works as advertised. The quality of the image is pretty good. It comes with auto keystone adjustment, which is great. It will play/show most formats without a problem. Cons: The biggest problem is with the sound output. When connected to an external speaker, the sound is way too low, compared with connecting the same speaker to any other source. The built in speaker sound is not that good either.
Summary: This is what I have been told by the Benq headoffice. I spent Rs 15000 ($300) extra just because it was advertised as such on Amazon and EBay (that it works with iPad) and I found out after buying two Apple AV adapters on Benq engineer's insistence (as even he was unaware). Later on the engineer enquired with Benq India HQ, and was told that GP2 does't work with iPad. I wonder how many people around are being fooled with this misinformation. Sad.
Summary: I picked this up from woot for $280, so really at that price point it is hard to complain. The projector, in my basement, projected on a real projector screen, with some background lighting does a great job. With all the lights off and in a real movie setting, its awesome for the price. I could understand how people might be a little turned off by the $600 vs. quality/features, but it is what it is. 1.) the ipod dock- its 30 pin...forget it.
Summary: Amazing projector if you're not planning to use it at a church or other big venue. Bright colors, great hd image, and gives you a bigger picture from close range compared to other high-end projectors.
