Summary: I purchased this projector because of it's size and fun factor. It's a really cool idea. However, in reality, I didn't find the unit to be bright enough. If all you desire is tv sized images in a nicely darkened room, then it was bright enough. If you desire over 55 inch images in a poorly dimmed room, then it's not adequate. I wanted to make a slide show at a wedding. I thought it would be awesome to set a projector on a tripod and project at a portable screen.
BENQ MINI BABY PROJECTOR WITH SO MUCH POWER HIDDEN
9 February 2011
Summary: I am really in love with this little BENQ joybee baby projector. So much power hidden in this little, slick device that would make other bigger and expensive projectors blush. Never before in my life have I seen so vivid, sharp, colourful images. The contrast ratio is very impressive and when I plugged it into my laptop the resolution was far better that my laptop's screen.
Summary: The info mentions the weight of the unit which was a big deal for me. What they don't tell you is the power supply weighs about the same amount! So travelers beware. The picture when projected on my hotel room wall was very impressive but was too dark for a bigger audience, with any ambient light. I was hoping to use it in my travels but will keep it at home. LED's are the future, since the bulb for my other projector costs $300 to replace.
Summary: Personal Experience I bought this little projector not long ago and think it’s the most magnificent thing. Initially I was looking for an HT projector for my room, but then after reading through some forums I realized that an HT projector would not be the best option for my bedroom. Especially since I didn’t want to overdo my budget range and I wanted something which was quite portable for option of other future uses.
Summary: Personal Experience I like GP1 a lot. 100 lums actully work better than I thought. A perfect "wow" and presentation tool for business traveling. Problems USB port saves me the trouble to bring laptop but I do hope BenQ can support more formats.
Summary: Had this projector for about a month now; noticed it after a friend mentioned it to me after he saw it online. The idea of a compact projector as the size of your palm really inspired and interested me to learn more about it. So I read more about it online, only to become even more hooked on the conceptual idea that was actually available.
"A good projector made useless by lack of connectivity. Consider an alternative LED projector."
2 December 2009
Summary: I've used this projector for 2 years now, mostly to watch movies at home. Does a good enough job for that, as long as it is dark enough. Low noise, long lamp life, small and light (well, the power brick doubles the weight...). Focus is hard to adjust and shifts during the movie, needing several adjustments. Even for a non-fanatic of high res like me, I was quite annoyed by the lack of details sometimes when watching regular DVDs though.
Excerpt: "...that’s when I found the BenQ GP1. Of course, you can’t compare the performance between the GP1 and the HD20, but I got to say, for the price you pay for the GP1 and the size and weight of it, it really is an amazing mini projector. Although only with 100 lumens, it is 100 lumens of LED (RGB not white) lamination, and I must say if you compare it with standard LCD or DLP 100 lumens, the LED’s 100 lumens are quite a few multiples higher. And the ...
Pros: LED bulb, quick on quick off, USB connectivity
Excerpt: "The Joybee is definitely my favorite and most useful tool I've come upon in a long time. In a world where portability is becoming more and more important (and I travel quite a bit), it's also gotten me through quite a few tough spots. I often carry it in my briefcase and use it on the road. I frequently put movies and sports on my flash drive and hook up my Joybee on the train to get through the commute and catch up on my football. One great example ...
Benq Joybee GP1: Mini Projector - the one to be watching!
16 September 2009
Summary: What a projector!! Love it so much, bought it for my ipod classic and it really does do the job. I am not going to pretend the picture is as good or as large as the normally projectors but as a portable projector it is certainly a trendy gadget for anyone who likes technology. Also I can imagine it being perfect for people travelling around giving talks or lectures. The quality of the unit is surprising very sturdy for the price.
