Summary: Personal Experience I have been given one of these and it is awesome. One of my buddies got it at an auction through work and was afraid of the bulb replacement price. It is already passed the recommended bulb life, but the bulb is still running strong, bright and excellent image quality.
Summary: Personal Experience I have 5 of these (i am a VJ) and 2 of them have tipped over from over 5 ft high on a tripod and hit the concrete really hard.....one has a mashed up rear end....yet they still work flawlessly.
Summary: Personal Experience I bought this projector back in 2005. I used it as an everyday TV screen as well as for movies and playing XBox 360 on. The unit comes with an adapter for composite video and made the XBox an experience to drool over.
Summary: Personal Experience Very bright and clear picture. Lightweight and the menu system is user friendly. Wish list would include focus from the remote control unit and a more solid overall build. That being said the value for the money is killer.
Summary: Personal Experience Bought 5, one bulb failed, remote iffy. Good Price. Read Problems section below. Problems I bought 5 for a school. Most were run on low power mode, one someone reset to high power. The high power bulb failed within six months (the glass melted and bubbled).
Summary: Personal Experience Bought this for a church hall. Excellent brightness for the money. Had no real problems I can speak of so far. Problems Remote has limited range. Must be within about 20 feet to work.
Summary: Personal Experience After owning an X1 with nearly 6000 hours, I was excited to find the PD525. The picture is fabulous. 2000 lumens in econ mode is great but 2600 lumens in normal mode is mind blowing for a $900 projector. Problems Support from Acer is non-existent. You are on your own.
