  • Summary: Great picture and colors. For 2600 lumens, 2000:1 contrast you can not find one for the price it is selling for. Acer also makes great computers.

  • Summary: I had a LAMP warning light come on and the manual said to contact support. My projector was out of warranty so they wouldn't tell me by e-mail I had to call and pay for it.
  • Pros: Cheap
  • Cons: once out of warranty you get no support, unless you pay $59.99 for 10 minutes.

  • Summary: Personal Experience I have been given one of these and it is awesome. One of my buddies got it at an auction through work and was afraid of the bulb replacement price. It is already passed the recommended bulb life, but the bulb is still running strong, bright and excellent image quality. I have hooked it to up to my HD Satellite box, PC and my HD DVD player (I know, I know) using the VGA and the VGA to component adaptor. All I can say is WOW.

  • Summary: Personal Experience I have 5 of these (i am a VJ) and 2 of them have tipped over from over 5 ft high on a tripod and hit the concrete really hard.....one has a mashed up rear end....yet they still work flawlessly. the other 3 we were using last year in South Beach at the Clevelander, and a sudden rain came and poured on them while they were on...

  • Summary: Personal Experience I bought this projector back in 2005. I used it as an everyday TV screen as well as for movies and playing XBox 360 on. The unit comes with an adapter for composite video and made the XBox an experience to drool over. It has worked fine this entire time, and I still have not replaced the bulb. There has been very minimal deterioration of the quality in the projected pictures... I am extreamly impressed with the life of the lamp on this thing...

  • Summary: Personal Experience Very bright and clear picture. Lightweight and the menu system is user friendly. Wish list would include focus from the remote control unit and a more solid overall build. That being said the value for the money is killer.

  • Summary: Personal Experience Bought 5, one bulb failed, remote iffy. Good Price. Read Problems section below. Problems I bought 5 for a school. Most were run on low power mode, one someone reset to high power. The high power bulb failed within six months (the glass melted and bubbled). Mounting - the mounting holes on the bottom are for 2.5mm bolts. This is not a standard size that you will bet with most mounts. I had to order some from a heliocopter model supply house.

  • Summary: Personal Experience After owning an X1 with nearly 6000 hours, I was excited to find the PD525. The picture is fabulous. 2000 lumens in econ mode is great but 2600 lumens in normal mode is mind blowing for a $900 projector. Problems Support from Acer is non-existent. You are on your own. The PD525 has a vertical sync threshold problem, ie it loses sync at 1080i when the picture is mostly white. The Infocus X1 had this problem but it was fixed with a fimware update.
