Nice but defect in dynamic iris

Scott P., Newegg
28 January 2013
  • Pros: Nice appearance, nice overall picture. Heat is blown out of the sides unlike my previous lower end Acer.
  • Cons: The dynamic iris makes a loud squealing noise every adjustment. It sounds like metal rubbing against metal. It is an obvious defect. The projector also turns off on its own for no reason. I read others posting about this. I have to plug it into another power strip and turn it back on. (It's not t...

HDMI Blurring Fix

Anonymous, Newegg
9 May 2012
  • Pros: It looks like Acer should have a firmware fix by the end of May. If it works and they come through, this projector easily deserves four stars.....especially considering the price. Tried to edit my original review, but couldn't......
  • Cons: The menu is kinda clunky and you can only save one setting

Acer need to fix that HDMI blurring

ANTON I., Newegg
21 April 2012
  • Summary: defective power supply /1st unit/ and defective lamp/2nd/ caused me a lot of headache during last moths...
  • Pros: Acer - Fix that HDMI blurring Yes. Acer must fix the blurring on HDMI input. Of course first they need to look into and then admit that there is one. When Benq can fix similar problem why not Acer.. For this reason alone I give only 2 stars. If Acer fixes it via firmware, I will update my review....
  • Cons: 0 ghost in 3D, acceptable brightness and noise in ECO mode

Would be great but for a few flaws

Brian M., Newegg
20 April 2012
  • Summary: Acer support has not been quick to respond to the above issues, especially the known HDMI blurring problem and the SBS tearing bug. These are probably fixable in firmware but Acer is pretending they don't exist.
  • Pros: Bright image with pretty good black level 3D clarity, detail and depth Good image quality without needing too much adjustment OK lag in 2D mode (40-50ms); not horrible, but not great Lens shift
  • Cons: Some blurring over HDMI, especially noticeable with PC desktops Screen tearing in SBS (Side-by-Side) 3D mode, used in some games Very high lag in 3D mode - OK for movies but bad for 3D games
