Acer H9500BD Review

maximum pc
28 May 2012
  • Excerpt: Acer’s H9500BD 3D video projector is the most expensive of the three models here, but it has a couple of features the other two lack. Its overall image quality, however, is only on par with projectors in this price range. We’ll leave it up to you to match those considerations to your needs/wants list. The H9500BD, like Optoma’s HD33, is based on Texas Instrument’s DLP technology.
  • Pros: Great picture in both 2D and 3D; lens-shift feature; lots of inputs; nylon tote bag included.
  • Cons: Not as bright as the Epson 3010, especially in 3D mode; only one pair of glasses included.

Acer H9500BD review

4 May 2013
  • Excerpt: Although it has a mid-range price, the H9500BD is Acer's top-end projector, complete with several high-end features we wouldn't expect to find, particularly on a Full HD (1,920x1,080) DLP model, including lens shift. Although you don't get as much control as with an LCD projector, Acer's lens shift gives you enough vertical and horizontal correction for most rooms, so you can get a square picture without having to resort to digital keystone correction.

This cheap home theatre projector is an absolute bargain

Good Gear Guide.au
24 April 2012
  • Summary: Acer’s relatively cheap H9500BD was a surprise. We were expecting a same-y, not-too-bad home theatre projector but the quality of its 2D and 3D video was very impressive given the low retail price.
  • Pros: Excellent, detailed, bright video, Smooth 3D with no cross-talk, Affordable price
  • Cons: Few calibration options, Default sharpness slightly too high, Motion smoothing slightly too eager
