well worth it

Eddie H., Newegg
30 April 2013
  • Summary: could have spent twice as much for a better name brand version of the same thing. happy with this one.
  • Pros: great price, color, sharpness. did a lot of research before I purchased. been using it for 2 years now and has been great. its in a basement with good lighting for a projector but I couldn't be happier with it.
  • Cons: none

Great

Daniel S., Newegg
20 April 2012
  • Pros: Contrast is great. Much less noise than the 720p model (especially in eco mode) using a true 24 fs makes a big difference in action movies
  • Cons: Would have preferred it go to 120 Hz so I at least had the option of 3D.

DLP for the win ... or not?

Andrei B., Newegg
27 January 2012
  • Summary: I am on the whole quite satisfied with the projector's performance.
  • Pros: Great stuff for the price. Automatic keystone cuts down on a lot of fiddling.
  • Cons: I was hoping for blacks that could go far lower than LCD. While it seems DLP is quite a bit better than LCD, it's not like "wow, amazing, problem solved." It is better, but not a whole lot better. Which is somewhat of a bummer considering the high setup effort required for a projective system ver...

Good picture, no complaints so far

Scott V., Newegg
16 January 2012
  • Summary: I'm very happy with the picture I got for the price, and am currently using it with a Pioneer VSX-921K receiver, which I also recommend if you are building a home theater.
  • Pros: Very nice picture, even in the bulb saving mode (although I have it in a room with pretty good light control). I've used it for about 300 hours of viewing (as indicated by the bulb timer in the projector menu) and haven't had any issues so far. Currently have it on an 80" screen and blu-ray movie...
  • Cons: Colors are visibly off quite a bit in pretty much every preset mode on my white da-lite screen (even though it allows you to choose from multiple screen colors). It was fairly easy to calibrate to where it looks correct by manually adjusting levels, but if you like to manually adjust multiple mod...

Best 1080p Projector for the price right now

workindev, Amazon
19 December 2011
  • Summary: I researched projectors for a very long time, reading reviews on avsforum.com, Projectorreviews.com, and other similar sites. I finally decided on this projector after reading all the reviews. This is my first projector so I am probably very easily impressed, but this thing just blows me away.

Great projector, especially for the price

Devin B., Newegg
18 December 2011
  • Summary: This is my first projector, so I'm sure there are people who are much more picky than I am, but for the price this projector is fantastic. This is one of the cheapest 1080p projectors on the market today and the picture is jaw dropping good.
  • Pros: Excellent picture out of the box. Everybody who comes over to see it is very impressed with the picture. I'm sure the picture would be even better if I calibrated it, but it looks so good right now that I don't really see the need to tweak anything. My wife was the most concerned about having to ...
  • Cons: Really is no flexibility in placement. My screen had to be in a pretty specific place, so the projector has to be mounted in a very specific place. I measured very carefully but somehow didn't get it quite right because the image keystone is a little off. I am trying to avoid using the keystone a...

Great, low price, full-HD projector...

Jamie M., Newegg
6 December 2011
  • Pros: I've had the projector for a couple of months now and have watched many Bluray movies so far. Crisp, clear and great blacks are the highlights. It's an excellent projector that I plan to enjoy for many years to come.
  • Cons: None at this time.
