Summary: This is my first projector so I really have nothing to compare it to. It was a toss up between this one and the similar BenQ. Price was the bottom line and Newegg put this one on sale when I was ready to buy.
Pros: Very bright, quiet, easy to set up and got it on sale from the egg.
Summary: I got it on sale for under $600. Hard to beat that price. Would be happier with better service but the projector is great overall.
Pros: Great image. As an avid cinema goer it has really made my theater outings fewer and fewer.
Cons: Got dust inside the lens and caused a bunch of annoying blurry white dots on dark scenes. I sent it in for service but got it back exactly the same. The service center did not even touch it. They just sent it back and said everything was fine. This is after a few long meticulous descriptions of t...

Summary: Recently bought this projector as my first foray into the world of home cinema. I love it and get a great picture, screen size is huge, although currently running a 90 inch screen. This projector gets fantastic reviews on various sites on the net.
Summary: I am really sensitive to the rainbow effect with this particular projector. I wish I wasn't since I find that this projector has great picture for the money. I not able to watch a full movie with this projector without getting a headache or being bugged by this effect.
Pros: Great Picture! Good blacks and plenty bright for daytime viewing.
Summary: No it dose not have many of the bells and whistles of the more expensive projectors but many of those are not needed anyway. If you want a 1080p projector that dose the job well and don't want to spend a lot of money doing it, this is it.
Excerpt: Bought this projector for our Mac user's group meetings. The image brightness, color intensity, and ease of use are fantastic. I see none of the color artifacts some people refer to. The images are razor sharp projecting 1080p films on a big screen.
Pros: Bright image, Easy To Set Up, Great Color Intensity, High Def 1080p Native
Cons: Case Seems Flimsy, No lens cap, Plastic Leveling Screw, Unpadded Nylon Carry Case
Summary: to get the RS232 to respond, I had to make my own crossover adapter... I've never experienced this problem before... generally the device is set up to RX on the computer's TX, but maybe my adapter's messed up in the first place.
Pros: USB port functions as a low level HID and allows you to change slides in a powerpoint, using the remote control. Very clear image with no prominent problems with color distortion from the lenses. little bitty speakers produce clear human speech range audio. Responds to RS232 commands, for those o...
Cons: Does have a little rainbow effect (observed while looking left and or right from a bright object against a dark image) but no more than any other projector in this category.
Excerpt: a good projector. very strong light due to its high lumens. the short coming is in that it is not short throw - I think a relatively small projector should be a short throw because they are meant to be used in small places; if you have a large space then the normal throw projector makes sense.
