Pros: Great Picture almost HD Quality 1080i. Easy to operate. Great remote control. Many controls. I had an X3 with this lamp advertised to last for 5000 hours.
Cons: X3 projector has no removable air filters which leads to sluggish fan operation. While trying to clean with miniature vacuum wand dust getting on color wheel caused darkening and poor wheel rotation. Replacement color wheel costs $400. Without proper ventilation fan sluggishness occurs thus allowing lamp to overheat which reduces lamp life. Bulb life was seriously shortened and failed in about 2700 hours.
Pros: I just ordered my first replacement, for x1a. Has not arrived yet, but the original lasted around 3000 hours and i only really expected around 2000 hours.
Cons: When i removed the old bulb the silver lining had chips in it and looked kind of rough id' think this would degrade performance. the screen collects dust very easily, and im not sure if removing the bulb mid life to clean it is such a good idea... Guess i'll find out this time around.
Pros: The X2 projector has a good quality picture, good picture controls and decent brightness.
Cons: I've owned mine for 3 years, it has been used in a classroom with a ceiling mount, and I just had my second bulb burn out. There is no way I used either of them for 3000 hours. On average I may use the projector for 5-10 hours per week, the last lamp only probably had 300-400 hours on it. The one before maybe 700 hours at the most. Other teachers with similar usage have had competing projectors for longer than I have without ever having to change a lamp.
Pros: I'm writing this review more for the InFocus x2 projector than the lamp itself. The x2 projector is an alright piece of equipment, I've used it for almost 2 years and it functioned well under the conditions as a home theater projector. I used it moderately.
Cons: Bulb burnt out long before the 2,000 hour rating, at about 300 hours. Replaced the bulb and got just under 400 hours before this lamp burnt out. x2 DLP projector has a loud operating fan. I have not seen this model for some time now and believe it has been replaced by something a little more reliable.
