Loud, slow, expensive to operate, fragile, and poorly supported

Summary: Mine is two years old, and has seen light to moderate use over that time. It's breathtaking how expensive the solid ink is (and it goes fast)!. My 8560 recently broke - it started jamming and making all kins of noise. A local repair person couldn't fix it. Since we don't have a service agreement, it's *very* expensive to have a Xerox-dispatched person even look at it (US$399 for the first half-hour, lol).
DON'T BUY THIS PRINTER OR ANY XEROX SOLID INK PRINTER!

Summary: I bought two of these printers and wish I'd never bought one! First of all, one of the printers no longer works and has found its way to the nearest dump! It died as soon as the warranty ran out. These printers also turn on all through the day and night. If you have one of them already, make sure you let it stay on for at least the 15 minute minimum that you can set the printer to go into standby because "I think" this may be the reason the other printer is still...
Summary: This printer worked fine for the first 6 to 9 months. Then we had to make a service call to clear the jets and remove lines in the printouts. About a year later the same problem and it seems every few months another jet gets clogged. It is time to call again so here I am writing the review. There is Jet substitution option but it is buggy. You turn it on for Jet 72 then when you turn it on for jet 41 there is a chance it will turn 72 back on.
Summary: I've had this printer and the DN (double sided) version. The first had 4 service calls within the first 6 months, and it worked for the next 10 months. Because of the high cost of the service plan vs the actual printer cost, we decided not to buy it. Ink is used at an incredible rate, even though we only print about 1000 prints per month, instead of it's 80k rating. Warmup takes forever and uses tons of power and generates a lot of heat.
Summary: I've never given a one star review, but as a result of our experience with this product, I'm afraid it's necessary. The printer does print beautiful color. However, we also use it for scanning, and I would assume like most other users have it networked in our office. Unfortunately, the printer constantly loses its IP address, forcing a full reset.
Summary: Was shipped with broken ink cartridges. Amazon refunded. After printing 100 pages, the printer gives an error message of ADD BLACK INK. Black ink is full, Xerox tech support (outsourced to India) was of no help. I am throwing the printer in the trash, if Amazon does not offer a refund.
Summary: I strongly advise against the purchase of this printer. It performs poorly, suffers from poor design, and is expensive to operate. This is my fifth color laser printer, and it has performed far below lower cost printers. Service calls have cost me more than the purchase price. I selected the Phaser for two reasons: 1) Claims for superior color performance 2) Claims for lower operating costs Both claims have proven false.
Summary: This printer is the most expensive printer you will ever run. It wastes wax which cost $40.00 a stick every time the electricity goes off. On top of that when you put it into standby mode to save energy and stop the thing acting like a room heater it will switch itself back to heater mode for no apparent reason. The damn thing takes forever to come out of standby mode which makes the real time to print one page about 7 minutes.
Summary: I bought the 8560 18 months ago. I have only used it for about 10,000 copies. When I went to turn it on today I heard a pop and then smelled burning electrical components. I unplugged the machine, plugged it in again and nothing happened when I tried to turn it on. I called tech support which wanted over $300 for the first 1/2 hour of work plus the cost of parts.
Summary: I bought this printer (Xerox 8560) for my office to upgrade from the Xerox 8400 printer that I've had for years. While I had no trouble connecting to my Mac computer I have had continued problems getting the printer to print pdf files. As a scientist I print a lot of pdf files. Informed of the problems Xerox suggested that I update the drivers which I did.
