Summary: I have the exact same experience as the others reviewers. My 6110 worked for two years, I don't really use it much (The cartridges are still the originals!!!) and now all output has vertical banding in black print.
Summary: I have had similar problems. My printer lasted about a year and then all output had vertical banding. I tried getting technical support but had great difficulty explaining that the printer had failed within a year and had printed only a few hundred pages.
Summary: Bought this printer over a year ago now. Same as the other reviewers, I loved it at first, however after spending a small fortune on toners (none of which lasted as long as advertised) and battling with paper jams, I've had enough.
Excerpt: Right... The Xerox Phaser 6110... just binned mine. Why? It died. Ok, day one, works ok (bought it second hand, only a couple of months old, it was made in Sept 2008 according to the label on the back).
Pros: Small ~ ish, toner relatively cheap, fast in mono
Cons: Very slow in colour, overheats, jams, everything goes after 1 year, spare parts cost a LOT
Summary: I hate this printer. It is cumbersome, the paper tray is awkward, the colour resolution below standard and it positively eats money. It seems like everyday you need to fork out for new cartridges. You also get nearly zero warning when one of the four cartridges runs out.
Summary: I too have had exactly the same fault others mention on here thick, faint line on every page after about 200 sheets. Wasted money on two cartridges before contacting Xerox who never once returned my calls.
Summary: I was initially very satisfied - such a low price for a colour laser. After some time it started refusing to print for a number of reasons: overheating, waste toner container full, not accepting certain types of paper.
Summary: Same problem as other reviews. After 15 months and 1500 pages, black started to fade and there was vertical banding. I bought a new set of cartridges to discover that the problem was with the printer. Looks like it's a common problem!
Summary: If you have a long run of printing, the printer overheats and just stops. You have to switch it off to let it cool down. It then loses the print queue and you have to see where it has stopped to continue printing. Paper gets jammed. Takes ages to print the first page.
Summary: I too am having the exact same experience as the above reviewers. My 6110 worked well for a few months, I don't really use it much, a couple of A4 letters or so a week. I occasionally had feed problems and found I had to slam the paper tray in to get it to feed properly.
