Summary: No issues here. Yes, the printer is a bit noisy. Oh well, such is life. It prints with great quality, even on the lowest setting, and it is fast. I have 4 of them and am ordering another. Ink is expensive, but the printer does not use a lot of ink at all. Great product for the money.
Summary: We've printed 390,000 on our 8870, and it's bonkers, it makes a noise just like Chewbacca snoring and we point an office fan towards it to keep it from getting too warm which will bring the pages per minute down from 10 pages to 5 pages. It's had two replacement gearboxes which takes about half an hour. It's in the next room so the sound it makes tells us if it's still printing or if we need to replenish the toner or paper.
Summary: This printer is an amazing machine. I love the clors and how anything I print looks a step above any other printer I have, The only draw back is the speed especially once it has been running for some time. Once I look back at this draw back I would still buy another and did buy a second machine.
Summary: We had seen the 8870 ColorQube demonstrated and so I purchased one for our new business. We print artwork, bulletins, cards, and other things. We are small, so the speed is not an issue as we do a lot of one-offs.
Summary: Pros: solid ink has a nice sheen,if you use cheap copy paper, people will think you're using nice paper when it comes out of this machine. its also very fast and the software/web interface is the best I've seen in a printer... very detailed stats and easy to use. Solid ink also really is easier and faster then toner, which has quite a bit of value.
Summary: We like the printer overall. The color is great, it's very easy to use and the help screen is nice. The only complaint is it takes a few minutes to warm up after it goes to sleep but I think that is preferable to having it stay on all the time. Nice printer and nice quality.
