Summary: I purchased a ColorQube 8870 4 months ago. We print about 7,000 copies per month. It ran fine for the first few months and now overheats whenever you run more than a few pages at a time. We've spent over $900 on repairs with no luck. I'm throwing it out and buying another printer. BTY - the 1 year parts and labor warranty doesn't apply because we purchased it through ComDoc - a company owned by Xerox. Total customer satisfaction - not so much.
Summary: After reading a few reviews I thought this unit would work for me. Duty cycle of 120,000 per month sounded good 40 PPM. sounded reasonable. Well it prints one page every 10 seconds = 6 PPM. My first run was 700 pages I was thinking it should take ABOUT 20 min. It took two days.
Pros: low cost pages,,,,,,,,,,(really? could be much lower) small footprint for its capabilities somewhat fast duplexing is a nice option
Cons: They sell you ink sticks that probably costs pennies a piece for over $500.00 for all 4 colors, what a RIP OFF. they should include the full ink set in a machine that costs over $2K Should be much much much faster for this price range. Very noisy and clun
Summary: I just replaced my phaser 8860 with this model. While it's advertised as up to 40 ppm and 120,000 pages per month ... its a LIE. After about 700 copies, it slows to a crawl. (8ppm). I called them and they said that that's how it's supposed to work, it has an internal sensor that slows down when the motor overheats. I used to be able to run the phaser all day without this problem. This printer is worthless for business use.
