It's a great value for light duty users, but I had to return mine.

Summary: I had high hopes for this printer. I bought it to replace my 11 year old Oki C5150n printer, which was a real workhorse but was only rated at about 12 pages per minute. This printer is rated at 24 pages per minute, but right out of the box, when I printed the same jobs that I printed on my old Oki at 12 pages per minute were coming out at about 2 pages per minute.

Summary: Worked well but this was a replacement for the same model we had that lasted about 1-1/2 years. We use it a lot in our business and at the price I guess you can't expect it to last longer. Had an OKI (that they quit making) before that lasted close to 5 years but was twice as expensive.
Excerpt: This is my second purchase of this machine. Then again it is the forth machine of this model I have had. I bought one and after only 9,000 copies and 9 months it quit. After trying to fix it over the phone, including sending two different components to switch out, they sent a technician. With his help it went from sort of working to not working at all at which point Xerox sent me another machine.
Summary: It prints fast but the printer memory is not enough to print graphics. If you do it slows down to a crawl, about 1 page every 4 or 5 minutes for a 300dpi image in photoshop. The printer scratches glossy paper, mine puts about 12 scratches down the length of the page on any glossy media and it leaves scuffs on plain paper. What a disappointment, this could have been a great printer.
Summary: This printer makes my previous inkjet printer look lame. However in my set-up, where we are frequently printing envelopes, the printer is a little too smart for its own good. There is a lot of confusion about how to get it to print from the tray versus the manual feed, and how to tell the printer what it is printing on. We are doing better with practice, but we never had so much difficulty adapting to previous printer upgrades.
Summary: When I print a manual feed check from Quickbooks, the printer keeps wanting to repeat the job until I press the red reset button. Maybe a firmware update is needed. The product is otherwise great. I have not yet had time to call Xerox to see if they have a solution for either of these issues.
Pros: The color prints are very nice. The surface looks shiny, almost like wax. They also come out quickly on a 2Mb file.
Cons: The manual feed sucks. I get the paper to go in square about 2 out of 10 tries. The guides are very loose, so I use one hand to hold them tight against the paper. Even then, the paper only goes in square occasionally. I like to print envelopes as well as single checks from Quickbooks. This will be a real pain. It would easily be 5 stars if the manual feed worked well.
