Pros: Great quality, very solid. We bought it largely to print calendars with big color photos on bright white, heavy, plain paper, and we are very impressed. We won't be working it hard until Christmastime, but so far so good. We got aftermarket toners that work great and are very economical. Network setup was very easy. If we ever need to use PostScript, it's there.
Cons: For my uses, I have no complaints, but it's a brute, which might be a con for some people. For a home printer, it's very heavy, and, as others have reported, when it prints the lights dim. Also, like most printers I've seen, it appears that the list price is inflated for the purpose of making you think you are getting a great deal when it goes on sale. Seriously, these should only be purchased at half off or better. And OEM toner is outrageous.
but it is really working great. We use it at my wife's childcare business

Summary: I got SO tired of buying ink. Then you try buying knock-off ink and it spills all over the place. This is my first color laser, but it is really working great. We use it at my wife's childcare business, and the staff prints off lots of coloring pages for the kids, and all kinds of color marketing material. I have no complaints at all. This thing is very heavy, and I actually like that. Sturdy. Plasticky ink jet printers always feel like junk.
Summary: Very nice printer, easy to install and get working. The toner isn't prohibitively expensive to replace unlike some units. The picture quality is excellent for a printer in this price range. I also like the paper feed bypass, and the internal duplexing which has worked perfectly. Unlike an ink jet printer, this printer can sit for a long period, then start up and produce perfect copies without needing the heads cleaned or replaced. It's fast too.
Summary: - I was fed up with paying for ink-jet refills, so I did some research and bought this for the family for Christmas and started using in January 2013. -- With two school age children, an adult in a Master's program, and an engineer we go through a fair amount of ink (toner now). -- I replaced the first cartridge early this year: the black cartridge. - I actually saved the entire cost of the printer in NOT buying ink for the ink-jet.
Summary: I simply don't like this printer. I have it set up on the home network with an iMac and a Windows pc. It will not share on the network and I constantly need to switch cables to the perspective routers so that each computer and recognize it---strange. At times I also need to restart the computer as well in order for it to find the printer. I never had this problem with my old Dell 3110 Network Laser printer.
Good printer, but has tendency to automatically choose 2 sided printing and sometimes has a mind of its own (wants me to use manual feed when I didn't select it)

Summary: I'd been contemplating purchasing a color laser printer for a while. I own a marketing communications company and have been producing marketing materials and proposal documents for clients. For the price, it can't be beat. I am, however, disappointed in Xerox's cartridge rebate offer. It was misleading.
Pros: Prints fast
Cons: Had to replace black ink cartridge within first week (printed about 1000 pages, though)
Summary: Linux Compatibility: Works with Linux/CUPS. I was a little hesitant since this printer wasn't listed on openprinting.org, and similar listings didn't have a "works perfectly" rating. This is probably because Xerox's printer utility programs don't run on Unix/Linux. It doesn't matter however since all printer functions can be viewed and configured through the web interface or on the LCD panel. As with all postscript printers under Linux, no driver is required.
Excerpt: At first the printer to appears to be a bit flimsy compared to my former Phaser 8560 but is actually very solid. I would strongly suggest that if you are going to use this USB and network connection, that you do them ONE at a time. Do the USB connection FIRST and the when securely printing, print a print map to install the network connection and change the name of the network connection slightly different.
Pros: Compact Design, Easy To Set Up, Fast Print Time, Less Messy Than My Other, Sharp tones & colors
