  • Summary: I bought this because I wanted a robust simple monochrome printer for basic network printing in my home. So far it is a great printer and also like the fact it prints duplex. I've only had it for a couple weeks now but I have to say it was very easy to setup and haven't had issues at all.

Good Printer

Paul V., Newegg

  • Pros: Prints fast and is duplex.
  • Cons: When you turn the printer on you will get some electricity fluctuation. Not sure why and it does that during the printing.

Very fast and easy to set up. Duplex and network(not wireless) printing are a huge bonus.

  • Summary: This is not a tiny printer. It's more for a professional/small business than a college student dorm room printer. It has very good printing quality and fast speed. The only little nick picky thing I have about this printer is that Samsung didn't have a printer driver that specific design for it.

Great printer, expensive refills

Strohmian, Amazon

  • Summary: ** Why a B/W printer ** Let me start this review by saying that I'm quite a fan of monochrome laser printers: they're fast to start up and print, don't clog up when unused for a couple weeks, cheap to operate, and generally quite reliable.

Still Retains Its Workhorse Roots

Canis Majoris, Amazon
27 December 2013
  • Summary: The Samsung Monochrome Laser Printer. There have been many varieties of the latter description and one thing remains the same throughout its line: it is a printer that does only one job--fast printing in black and white--and does it extremely well for a long time.

Reply to critical review

Michael F., Newegg
26 December 2013
  • Summary: With all the caveats mentioned before, this is sill a great deal. I printed a 750 page, duplexed, document, with no problems whatsoever. For me, it's a keeper.
  • Pros: As stated in the "most critical" review. Very fast, fast duplexing, easy setup. All good, and with the heavy discounts commonly available at Newegg, astoundingly cheap, even with expensive toner.
  • Cons: Yes, toner is expensive. But still, the differential cost isn't all that much more. Have experienced none of the "blows circuits, overheats" problems mentioned before. Accessories are expensive - an addon 500 sheet feeder costs more than the entire printer (at full retail!). There are only limite...

High quality, but bulky and heavy

Edward Durney, Amazon
25 December 2013
  • Summary: For a laser printer without other functions like copying, faxing and scanning, this printer seems bulky and heavy. But if all you need is good, reliable, and cheap black-and-white printing, this printer will fit the bill. It works well. One pro is that it prints on both sides of the page.

Great laser printer

Wixby Bonnet, Amazon
24 December 2013
  • Summary: This Samsung laser printer handles all my home printing needs. It is quick and the resulting printed page has clear, crisp text. I generally don’t print out much of importance, so the Eco button to save on ink is a very nice feature.

Inexpensive and very capable laser printer, but high cost of toner can be a concern

Here I Am, Amazon
4 December 2013
  • Summary: You can connect this printer directly to your computer using a USB cable, or if you like to share or access it over a wireless network, connect it with an ethernet cable to your router.
