Compact Workhorse Printer for a Grad Student

Steve, Amazon
9 August 2014
  • Summary: I've had this Samsung for a few months now, so I think it's appropriate to offer my thoughts. I like it's compact size. It sits off to the side of my desk and is not really much larger than my previous Canon All in One. I thought the setup was a breeze with my particular network. Literally, the hardest part for me was removing all the tape and stuff holding the internal components together for packaging purposes. Don't laugh. It's tougher than it seems!

Jams Jams and more Jams

Edward D'Arcangelo, Amazon
22 July 2014
  • Summary: This printer was a breeze to setup both on WiFi and windows driver. However anytime it prints it jams deep inside the fuser unit. I got Samsung on the line and I walked them though the situation. I explained all the things I did to fix it is clear the jam power cycle and verify paper size and tray size I also reseated the toner and fuser unit. This is an issue with Samsungs quality control. If you buy this printer it will jam. Don't trust all the reviews.

AMAZING VALUE

jonathan d borgia, Amazon
11 July 2014
  • Summary: Probably the best printer I have owned. For the price point, the SL-M2825DW is the best value printer available. Research outside of amazon supports this as well. The wifi printing allows me to print from my Galaxy 5 as well - a nice bonus. Setup and syncing were a snap. Settings are adjustable as to how much toner is used, so you can get the most out of each refill. It does what it does well and doesn't try to be anything it isn't.

Hope to save you time with things I found, but yes, love this printer

SteelJan, Amazon
20 June 2014
  • Summary: I chose this printer because I wanted a mono laser after my ink jet printer died and it had been a money pit in cartridges. Put this puppy on my desk, followed the included quick start guide for plugging it into my wired network, ran the installation cd, which automatically went to the web to fetch the latest drivers & software, and howdy-bingo, my printer was on my wired network.

Love this printer! Fast, quiet, sharp, fulfills my every need thus far.

Robert MacKimmie "Robert MacKimmie", Amazon
13 June 2014
  • Summary: I had the Samsung 2510 for several years, but it got smudgy from a sad replacement cartridge. I am a beekeeper and needed to make high quality labels for my jars at the farmers' market. I tried to print onto clear and gold label stock at the Fedex/Kinko print shop, but those big monster machines gave me poor results at best. The clear labels melted and failed in the big machine.
