Summary: It printed perfectly in the beginning. The duplex printer is great, and the by-pass feeder will take things as small as a 3x5 card. Sadly, within 6 months of putting the printer into service, it began printing poorly, leaving a shadow, or dirty look on my papers.
Summary: Really a nice printer that was easy to setup on network and printed pages super fast compared to my old Samsung ML1710. Just understand that toner and cartridges offline are hard to find and if you run out of toner there is NO WAY to continue printing without installing a new cartridge.
Pros: Prints fast high quality prints that are easy on the eyes to read. Quiet too and setup was a breeze. Time to 1st print 5 sec or less.
Cons: Toner is expensive and oem/reman cartridges are hard to find locally. On line it is easier but still expensive and refilling your own toner has special requirements that if you make a mistake can cost you a cartridge. Cannot tell printer to continue printing once "replace toner" is on so ALWAYS H...
Summary: I really wanted to like this printer. It seems a lot better built than the comparable HP printers and it was cheaper than the Brother model I usually recommend to clients. I purchased it from Newegg half off, for a client of mine. Out of the box, it printed black horizontal lines down all the pages.
Pros: Fast, seems well built, uses paper cassette to protect paper from dust, reasonable toner cost, LCD and Eco mode
Cons: Printer was defective out of the box and very poor support from Samsung
Summary: I've used Samsung printers personally and in the businesses I've worked for more than 10 years... they are excellent products but their consumable costs have always been very high.
Pros: The printer is nearly free...well less than 100 bucks.
Cons: The toner cartridge has an imbedded chip that "kills" the cartridge after the 5,000th print regardless of how much toner remains. There are some OEM non-USA cartridges out there that may or may not work so you are better off sticking with the genuine product. The genuine product costs an average ...
Summary: I hope yours works out of the box. Mine has a small problem. The LCD display has no back light. Have to use a flashlight for setup and errors. While that does not effect performance it is an irritant.
Pros: Setup was easy with a caveat. See cons. Prints well and fires up quickly from sleep mode. All in all a nice little B/W network printer for the money.
Cons: Support is read from a script. If the answer does not fit it is so long.
Summary: Don't bother with the Set IP utility they include; just set the IP on the front panel and save yourself installing a mostly useless program.
Pros: Fast, quality output. Works flawlessly on the network with a little front-panel configuration.
Cons: Doesn't support Samsung's 10K page MLT-D205E toner cartridge - says it's incompatible even though the website says it "goes great with" that cartridge. The toner in question is mechanically identical to the MLT-D205S/L that it does support. When I called to see if there was a firmware upgrade, th...
