Summary: I recently upgrade my home computers all to windows 7. It was a big mistake because I lost my networking with all the computer. For some reason windows 7 requires all the computer to have ipv-6 on the network computer. I can't get ipv6 to work so I can't network and can't print from other computer. I found this printer has its own ip address and comes network ready. This solved my problem. He works great. It is small and quiet. It is the best printer I've ever owned.
Summary: I bought this for it's Mac & Win compatibility, easy connectivity, compact size, throughput speed, positive reviews, and a great deal price. I'm using this in a home office setting as a complement to a (more expensive to operate) HP all-in-one color inkjet scanner/copier/printer. This combination is working *very* well for me. I use multiple computers (both Mac and Win) on a wireless network (Airport).
Summary: Although this is a network printer, I bought it as a local printer. There was no problem with that. The printer is cheap to run. It is silent when not printing. It takes a few seconds to warm up prior to a print job, but this isn't a problem. There are two paper trays for feeding paper into the printer. This makes it a very useful printer for my small business.
Summary: Arrived promptly. Did not set it up for some days to get more out of old printer cartridge. Unpacking, setting up were easy. Setting up to print on the network also proved completely straight forward. Duplex printing also good. Very pleased with product. Particularly like the secondary front loading "tray"[it opens out from front of machine] which I use for printing on reverse sides of paper already printed on one side.
Summary: Bought this after the umpteenth inkjet let me down ... This is for a home office. I don't print that much but enough to want double sided printing. Don't care about colour printing for the most part. Pleased with it so far - the full duplex is great. The only gripe (and the reason I gave 4 stars) is that the main tray doesn't get on that well with 80gsm paper (the manual tray works fine), so 90gsm is the order of the day (and yes, I did follow the recommendation of...
Summary: Samsung ML-2855ND was a breeze to install and duplex works very well. I have to post alot of reports so the duplex function is a necessity to keep post costs down. You must read the instructions regarding inserting paper, you must not insert paper direct from its ream as the printer may take two pages at a time. Take paper out in small batches and flick through them like a pack of cards. Do this and this printer works like a dream.
Summary: Have a brother mfc which drives me mad because of the noise though is otherwise a good machine. The samsung is a joy to work with - compact and produces great quality print, fast and duplex. Best of all it is quiet with only a slight whine when it is printing and then it immediately becomes silent.
