Summary: This does a very good job printing quickly, updates are seamless and laser toner lasts a very long time with heavy use. Happy to have purchased this printer. It is able to print on both sides, turns on & prints very quickly. Minus one star b/c the light indicating a printing problem (out of paper, out of toner, etc.) is entirely non-specific.
Summary: I do a lot of printing in black and white. Am also able to print on both sides of paper when setup properly. Ran over 2000 pages since purchasing and just recently had to change the ink supply.
Summary: This was a wonderful printer as long as it worked. It lasted several years, was fast and reliable. Then it started signaling that it was out of toner while the print quality was still fine. I kept using it until it refused to work. I ordered an expensive OEM replacement cartridge which arrived without the same chip as the one in the machine, but the printer worked fine again for a few days. Now it is again giving a red trouble signal. I have no idea why.
Summary: Once I got it up and running, it worked like a charm! So fast, and I am sure it will save me $$$ to use it, instead of my color (and expensive-cartridge) OTHER printer! I'm happy with this purchase, for sure. One small disclaimer: It did not work with the ethernet connection. I had to get the USB cable to make my computer recognize that the printer was connected...
Summary: Excellent printer with good speed. Print quality is good. Handling of paper is good. I needed a printer that was fast, text quality that was good at a great price. The Samsung ML-2851ND had all these qualities and more.
Summary: I bought my first laser printer years ago. I've replaced printers due to newer models coming out, but I've never had one outright die like the ML-2851ND. Like others, my fuser died when it was just out of warranty, and a new fuser is $100. So basically, it's junk. It's funny--I bought this printer to replace a Brother printer because I thought I was buying quality. Little did I know...well now I know better, and I'm never buying Samsung again!
