This printer has a print speed(black text) of upto 28ppm in A4(30ppm in letter). Its built-in, automatic duplex feature enables printing double-sided documents saving time and money. ML-2851ND is capable of delivering single sheets in less than 8.5 seconds and 100 pages in less than 4 minutes. Samsung ML-2851ND can take a maximum media size of Legal (8.5 in x 14 in) and A4 (8.25 in x 11.7 in).

Samsung ML-2851ND uses a 400MHz processor and its 32MB memory expandable to 160MB allows it to start faster. This printer is also ENERGY STAR compliant and assures users that they are using less energy. Samsung standard cartridge can yield 2k pages and the high yield cartridge can yield 5k pages.

The ML-2851ND has a monthly duty cycle of 30,000 pages. The maximum capacity and type of paper output tray is 150-sheet @75g/m face-down. The average noise level for this printer is less than 50dBA in print mode and less than 26dBA in standby mode. Samsung ML-2851ND offers its users a high resolution of upto 1200x1200 dpi.

    You know you are a reviewing a good printer when it is hard to come up with cons at the end of the review and I had that exact problem with the Samsung ML-2851ND.  Priced at around $200 (I did find it for less than $200 with a couple of online vendors), it gives users quick, efficient, laser quality prints. I would recommend this printer for any home office in need of a high volume document printer or small business with no need for color. Read more

    The Samsung ML-2851 is made for small and home businesses, and it's a great value for those types of businesses, as long as they recognize its limitations: it's not an all-in-one, so a fax, scanner, and printer for color copies will be separate purchases. But if monochrome printing is all that's needed, this printer can churn out good-looking pages like nobody's business. Read more

    I've been using the printer for over 6 months. I print 1,000 - 2,000 pages every month. The Samsung ML-2851ND Network-Ready Monochrome Laser Printer works very well for my purposes. I am running MAC OS 10.5.6 on a computer that is hooked to the printer via USB cable and MAC OS 10.4 on a computer that is hooked to the printer via network. Setup was intuitive.     Pet peeve: This is my second duplex printer, and I need it to print manuals and books. Both printers have the same silly behavior. If you print a single page (memo, invoice, etc.) the printer feeds it for both sides, even though one side is never printed. Ditto for the last page in an odd-page-count print job. Printing would be faster, less mechanical stress, to print a page single sided when possible. This is just inattention to detail in the embedded software. Read more

    " This printer is fantastic! I don't take time to write reviews, but this one deserved it. It is super fast, super easy to set up, the network setup was no-brainer, the footprint is tiny, the print quality is great even on toner save mode, the two-sided printing works flawlessly, did I say it was fast?     The unit performs just as advertized, very fast printing and text looks exceptionally good. The only cons I would have about the unit is that it gets very hot when printing and the paper tends to curl when ejected out of the printer, however after the paper cools it is fine so just a little inconvenience so I just lay the paper on a flat surface and let it cool for few minutes.
