Pros: After 5 years of service I have finally decided to retire this bad boy. It still runs like a beast, however the need for duplex printing is the major factor for its retirement. I have not replaced the cartridge since my purchase, merely added more toner (note: its recommended that a new cartridge...
Summary: I don't understand the negative reviews, and the paper jam issues. I am very pleased with my printer, it works great and never jams. I have even left it in storage for over a year and it worked perfectly when I was ready to use it.
Summary: Not "jam free" as advertised, but they are rare. We own 33 at the moment, and only three are non functional after one year. If given the choice I would purchase these again.
Pros: Clean and easy to use, drum and toner are replaced with each cartridge. Front loading and printing saves space. Very reliable with 90% of these still working after a year. 3k page limit can be reset with a twenty five cent fuse, and then run dry.
Cons: New cartridges have a 3k page limit, even if you have lots of toner left. (as far as I know all of the other printer manufacturers have hard print limits now as well, so Samsung just joined in on the toner cheatfest)
Summary: New toner is almost as expensive as what I paid for the printer but luckily samsung makes it VERY easy to refill the toner cartridges. A refill kit runs $10 and takes all of 5 minutes to use. From what I read you can refill the cartridge 3-4 times before replacing it.
Pros: Picked it up when it was $50. Can't beat that for a laser printer. Prints black and white quick and perfect. Cartridge is VERU easy to refill for $10. Don't really have any major complaints.
Cons: The error LED flashes/stays solid at times even though nothing's wrong with the printer. Sometimes I have to turn the printer off and back on for it to print the jobs that have queued up. The fuser gets really hot and makes the top of the printer rather warm as well. The original toner it comes w...
Summary: I bought this printer to replace a color inkjet. I hated my ink always drying out between semesters, and didn't really need the color anyway. This is a fine, discount printer. Now I'm looking for an inexpensive color laser printer for family and school projects.
Pros: Toner cartidges don't dry out. Cartidges seem to last forever (I'm still on my first one after 3 semesters). Doesn't take up much space. Comes with a toner cartridge already. Prints fast (with a bit of a delay on the uptake, but none between pages, even with large pdf files).
Cons: The paper tray is a bit flimsy. If you have to move it a lot, be careful. The price hasn't gone down in the two years since I purchased mine (at a major retailer). Replacement cartidges are pretty expensive (at least they last a long time ~3000 pages). No duplexer. Occasionally double feeds (this...
Pros: Works well, and prints well, that's why I got one. Laser printers always last longer than the ink jets. I'm hoping that this one will last as long as my previous HP printer. Was on sale, and got free shipping.
Cons: Unknowns, I suppose. Never had one, but trusting the Samsung name.
Summary: This is a good printer if you don't print a lot of stuff. If you can put up with the quirks (keep the paper dry). This is actually our second Samsung (we have the ML-2010) and I would definitely recommend this printer as a low-budget black and white laser printer.
Pros: The printer is quite inexpensive for a black and white laser printer. The toner cartrigges are not too expensive - prices vary from $28 to $32 for a replacement cartridge that is rated for 3,000 sheets. The printer prints well (it should - it's a laser!)
Cons: The printer did not ship with Mac OS X Leopard drivers. I had to go to the Samsung site to download a driver that would work (including special instructions). My Mac in combination with the drivers didn't give me the level of printing control I was hoping for - really all you can do is just print...
Great print quality for the price, terrible setup experience

Summary: I purchased this printer on a whim from a large office supply store in my town. I am an undergraduate student, and was sick of having to go to campus to print but didn't want to waste tons of money on ink. I print mostly papers and webpages, so I don't have any need for color.
Summary: I'm a writer and as such, get a lot of use out of my printer. I had an HP inkjet that finally died, and after reading the reviews on newEgg on this printer, I thought I'd give it a shot.
Pros: low cost, fast printing, easy installation of toner cartridge, high volume paper tray
Cons: lots of plastic components, lack of meaningful display on the control panel. There's a light that blinks if there's a problem, and a big orange button, and a green light that says it's on. The software you install gives you more meaningful information, but I would prefer it if the printer itself ...
