I don't understand the negative reviews, I love this printer!

Summary: I've had this printer for 3 years now. The amazing thing is I havne't done any maintenance whatsoever, not even replacing the ink cartridge. I'm the only one who uses this printer but I do use it quite a bit for my home based business. I have a Brother fax machine that needed ink replacement w/in 4 months, but this Samsung printer works without a glitch in the 3 years its been in service. That is the quality I have come to expect from Samsung products.

Summary: I've had this printer since Jan. 2005. I've been taking online college courses every semester, summer incuded, since then. I use it in toner save mode and print regularly classwork readings and assignments to take with me and it's worked perfectly. Yes, it's a little noisy, but so's my PC fan. If I want to duplex to save paper, I do it using the sheet feeder for the second side. I've had no jams or problems.
Summary: I've had the same problem as some others here...NOISE. In particular a high pitched whine that stays on for about 10 minutes or so when the printer is powered up. I think it's the fan thats the culprit. I thought it was a bad unit so i sent it back and the replacement had the same annoying whine. Otherwise an excellent printer. You can print a stack of envelopes and postcards and it's fast too. C'mon Samsung, quiet this baby down and you've got a kickass printer here.
Summary: For the first few days after I bought this new printer, the paper would stop in the printer about 50% of the time and the red light would blink. But it wasn't really a jam because if I removed the papertray and then put it back in, the sheet of paper would feed through. Gradually the problem improved and now, about a month later, the paper rarely "jams". Other than that minor problem at the start, it is great.
Printer comes with around 1500 page cartridge and NOT 4000 (overall has short-life); Also, very poor Samsung customer service.

Summary: I bought this printer 2 months ago after doing couple of days of intense survey to find a printer that is cheap and reliable. The reviews I read, on various reputed websites, regarding this printer were mostly positive. Apart from the fact that the printer's graphic printing is below par, the text printing according to various reviewers was very good which is actually true.
Summary: The printer is fairly quick for its class, although it slows down a bit when you use it at 1200dpi. Text output is crisp 600 or 1200dpi. The toner save function lightens the text, but it's OK for general use. For resumes and correspondence, turn off toner save AND go to advanced settings and darken the text too. I found that even with toner save off, the text was lighter than what I'm used to with expensive HPs.
Summary: First off let me ask, "Why doesn't Amazon have a picture of this attractive laser printer on the site?" It's certaintly one of the better looking lasers to have on your desk (for example: compared to the super ugly Hewlett Packards in the same price range) But enough about apperances. I'm a screenwriter, and I have been using an old HP laserjet 2p for the past four years until it finally gave out on me.
Summary: If you're looking for a black & white printer that offers superior text printing and for an incredibly low price, then this is it. Don't look no further, done deal. Feel free to read full, technical reviews of this product on PCWorld.com and PCMagazine.com. Pros: 1. excellent text printing 2. compact design 3. very pleasant appearance (white with grey) 4.
Summary: I've had this printer several months and printed hundreds of pages for training manuals and probably hundreds of others copying web page content and scanned articles, including some graphics and photos. My results for graphics are apparently better than others have experienced, but I'm not expecting excellent results from a laser printer of this type. I use a Canon 8500 for photos and very high quality stuff.
