Works Very Nicely

MATTHEW W., Newegg
14 September 2009
  • Summary: This is a lot of machine for the price. It's big, heavy and reminds me a lot of the early laser printers. Be sure if you're at high altitude to configure your printer accordingly--got lots of streaks until I set this.
  • Pros: Nice print quality. Solid networking features that work as advertised. Print driver included in Windows 7 out-of-the-box. Duplexing works well. I've put at least 3000 sheets through it already and had to grab another black toner pack. You may want to order this printer with at least another black...
  • Cons: Heavy and uses up supplies fairly quick. Could use a bit more standard memory to handle large PDFs. Tried using some laptop memory and didn't have much success--Samsung wants top dollar for their SODIMMs

Great printer

George O., Newegg
5 April 2009
  • Summary: Got it from Newegg. Newegg rocks, great customer service, price and shipping.
  • Pros: Ease of use, duplex printing, quick to print, web interface for printer status, email notification for low toner, good image and text quality, network ready, cost.
  • Cons: Printer fonts are not available to use on the PC when formatting documents, so you will need to go through a trial and error period where you try and match what you see when composing a document to what you get when you print it. My Minolta actually came with a font disc for the PC that matched t...

Did I do something wrong??

James S., Newegg
7 March 2009
  • Pros: Lovely print quality and easy to install. Fast delivery and great price from Newegg.
  • Cons: I am getting a repetitive clunking sound when the printer is preparing to print but not when actually printing. The print quality is fine but I wonder if I did not remove or install something correctly...

No bad for the price.

Joe G., Newegg
25 February 2009
  • Summary: The image transfer belt lasts 50,000 pages and costs ~$200 to replace. I don't think we will print that many pages over the life of the printer (5 years expected). Included toner cartridges are the low yield version (2000 pages at 5% coverage).
  • Pros: Low price, networked, duplex printing, lower toner costs, and the toner cartridges include the imaging drum (keeps image quality high) and waste tank (less parts that need changing).
  • Cons: Photos have noticeable dithering, by default there is too much yellow in the images (I changed Yellow-Blue from 50 to 95 under Color Adjust) and the color quality is lower than other color printers I have seen.

OK for Home Color Printer

Mark H., Newegg
24 August 2008
  • Summary: If on a network, highly recommend setting a STATIC IP address rather than DHCP. Recommend setting up local network for 100MBpS to avoid long wait times to print. Also, install the B&W drivers as well as the color drivers to save on toner.
  • Pros: I use this in a home network among four computers. The price is excellent for both color and duplexing. This is single-pass color, so expect about 20 PPM single-sided/9 PPM duplex. Works under both XP and Vista. Once set up, a smart panel gives me a heads-up on the printer status, and I can check...
  • Cons: Unable to set up printer on a Ubuntu workstation. Consider the color "draft quality", and not photo quality when printing (this is common for color laser printers of this range). Printer can stop during a major printout to perform color re-registration.

Good SOHO printer, but...

Shawn F., Newegg
23 April 2008
  • Summary: Originally installed in a retail environment for printing invoices. But when a customer is waiting, the 20-30 seconds to print an invoice is a long time. And when customers are waiting, and it goes into Reg mode and it takes 2-3 minutes to complete, it's just unacceptable.
  • Pros: Prints well, quick page-to-page, avg toner prices, easy install, no jams or problems yet, decent output, low price.
  • Cons: Even when warmed up, time to first page out can be long. And quite often, upon receiving a print job, it will go into "Adjusting Registration" mode, which resets the color registration. This feature cannot be stopped, nor disabled, and can take a few minutes to complete before it prints again. Ve...

Nice printer but network problems

Anonymous, Newegg
22 January 2008
  • Pros: Nice printer- prints fast once it warms up. Printouts are nicer than my old HP 2605dn.
  • Cons: I can't get the printer to stay available on the network. If I don't use the printer for more than a day, I need to re-install the drivers on all the computers on the network. I couldn't find any help on Samsungs site- and the DrPrinter utility was worthless. The drivers have not been updated yet...

Kleurenlaserprinter Samsung CLP-610ND/see

Gebru, Ciao
23 April 2008
  • Pros: Kleur, standaard duplex - unit, netwerkaansluiting, kwaliteit afdrukken
  • Cons: Installatie printerdrivers
